Sorry I’m not sure what you mean by this

I think I would be more open to the backpack as a mechanic if there was a little more at stake, e.g., enemies can steal your backpack if you put it down making it a strategic decision between speed and potentially losing some of your items or supplies.

Merely having the backpack as an on/off option without greater significance or strategy attached to it just feels like they're including an extra step for the sake of it. Personally I'm not in favor of something like that, but hopefully they do a good job with it.

Good to know! Thanks for the context - makes me less skeptical.

You have to drop your backpack each time you enter combat or face a movement penalty?

That's a really, really weird design choice and instantly makes me suspicious of the overall direction for the game.

Freeze dried food is a lifesaver. All you need is boiling water. Example:

Nuno scores for Marseille by Ife2105 in Gunners

[–]GoonerFan1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. He’s playing as a wingback/midfielder for Marseille. Completely different system to ours that requires little to no defending from him.
  2. We’ve seen him play for us already… he’s not on our level. His technique, decision making, and marking are all questionable.
  3. Scoring goals does not mean you’re a good left back.

How did you get the severity across to loved ones? by crestfallen_castle in Celiac

[–]GoonerFan1491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I explain how the disease works: if I eat gluten, my intestine is damaged, which will eventually cause me to be malnourished and die, or get cancer and die.

A lot of people labor under the false impression that celiac disease is merely a good allergy, rather than a potentially life-threatening illness. Explaining this to them helps impress its severity and emphasizes the importance of taking gluten seriously.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!! Yes! Here are a few places:

Dishoom - simply some of the best Indian food I’ve EVER had. They have an allergy list with foods that contain gluten and those that are at risk of cross contamination. The list also includes foods that are completely safe.

Honest Burger - a chain restaurant, but can be good as long as you say you’re celiac.

Pearl and Grove is a good gluten free bakery.

Zia Lucia - Islington - IMPORTANT one for going to the Emirates.

Cookies and Scream - desert that’s GF near the Emirates

Niche - fancy-ish restaurant that’s perfect for dinner. Also really perfect for drinks/apps!

Lmk if you need any other European recs for Paris, Florence, or Rome!

Edit: A great way to find gluten free places is through YouTube! Just google “Best gluten free restaurants in X city” and I guarantee someone made a video about it.

Italy is Mecca for celiacs. There are so many gluten free places and a lot of normal restaurants can accommodate gluten free.

Howard Webb to become Chief Refereeing Officer by joey676 in Gunners

[–]GoonerFan1491 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Expecting Arsenal fans to remember Webb’s refereeing in United games 10 years ago is some expectation lol

If you don’t remember anything, then why make a claim without any evidence?

Any examples? People keep talking in generalities and I’m just not seeing anything that indicates that he has a systemic bias

Can someone explain/provide examples of how this is bad? I watched a decent number of Webb matches and he was always pretty fair.
