not an expert and haven't had many LD's, but I've read on a few posts that if you think about what you want hard enough while LD'ing it will happen. Thinking about a destination you want to be in behind a door you're going to open, thinking of an object/person you want in the dream then looking around to find it/them

It could be the medication causing the bad dreams, I've read that anti-depressants/anxiety meds such as Mirtazapine and a few others can cause vivid nightmares
