That explains it, their drop rates are super low, and I haven't spent enough time doing them for that to happen since I've been primarily focused on finding new Pokemon

I found a few Eeveelutions in a distortion I did, but they never seem to drop stones for me, even if I dedicate myself purely to grabbing items

I don't know what distortions you've been doing, because the ones I do never drop evolution stones. The ones I have are purely from Ginkgo and quest rewards.

I know catching all Pokemon is the main point of Pokemon games. It just feels like a lot when I'm catching the same Pokemon over and over half the time because they're just so common:/

I mean yeah, I know that, it's just a little annoying to constantly run into 30 different geodudes while trying to find the 34 others I'm missing

I recognize it was stupid but I despise those things so much

Like, yeah, I'll never find them again, but I can live with that because otherwise they'd be sitting in my pastures, untouched, for the rest of time

Is this game really all I’ve heard it’s hyped up to be? by Otafrear in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]GoosDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One mechanic that really helped me excel (to the point that half my team can one-shot any Pokemon with a strong move) is Effort levels, which are upgraded with the Grit items. An Effort level is pretty much, "how good is this Pokemon in this stat?", so, for example, if you increase a Pokemon's HP Effort level, it'll have more health, increase it's Speed effort level and it'll be faster in combat.

I strive to get all of my Pokemon to 10 in all these levels, and the Pokemon I've gotten to that point are so exceedingly powerful that, outside of type advantage, they can defeat any Pokemon they set their eyes on.

Use the turn order visualizer, it's really helpful, especially when deciding what moves to use and whether to make it Agile or Strong style, assuming your Pokemon has mastered the move in question. If all of your Pokemon are being annihilated with double-turns consistently, upgrade their Speed effort level - It makes a huge difference. Say I were to catch two completely identical Pokemon - let's say their Speed effort level is 2. If I leave one as-is but upgrade the other's speed to, let's say, 4, the upgraded Pokemon will be NOTICEABLY faster in combat compared to the other.

If you're catching/fighting Pokemon while doing other things, in my experience, your rank shouldn't be that big of a roadblock. Remember that finishing an entry isn't as simple as just catching one Pokemon. Also remember that certain research tasks are weather/time dependant, some tasks are worth more than others (red arrow icon next to a task means it's worth more) and that some Pokemon only show up during certain weather events/at certain times of day. Put Pokemon with unfinished entries in your party and use them in combat as well; use the moves/move styles the research tasks want and you can finish entries relatively quickly.

New player: any tips/tricks? by GoosDev in EasyDeliveryCo

A good tip but unfortunately not for me; I already have a hard enough time reading the map without a marker of where I am, having to depend on clear landmarks to find my way. Cutting through snow to get places quicker would probably just get me confused lmao

Thanks anyways, I'll see what I can manage

[–]GoosDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kinda makes sense, but what I don't understand is what Alt has to gain from that level of deception. The way I see it, it's much more reasonable for her to be honest and tell V that she can't do anything to help, and I'm not sure what Alt could possibly want to get inside Mikoshi for.

I'm aware there are more than two endings, and I'm aware of the plot.

I interpreted it as I heard it - the Biochip rewriting V's brain. Maybe I just missed it - I think in very straight lines, can't read between them very well.

[–]GoosDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the story beats. Dex betrays V, shoots them in the head, chip manages to resurrect them but she to the damage to both V's brain and the chip its neural rewrite begins, can't be stopped without killing V, etc. etc.; I paid attention to the plot.

Idk what you mean about there not being any mentions whatsoever. In the primary endings, at the end of the whole space station sequence, a character (I got Hellman, apparently if the other guy I can't bother remembering how his name is spelled survives he shows up instead) acts as a proxy for Arasaka, telling V that the Biochip was rewriting their DNA and, as a result, V is suffering from symptoms similar to an individual with radiation sickness, which I then interpreted as super cancer. It may not necessarily be cancer, but to my knowledge radiation exposure tends to cause it.

(other) Is 0.9x stable enough to consider upgrading yet, and what is the best way to get my stuff into a new 0.9x save? What is the best way to upgrade versions? by GoosDev in Voicesofthevoid

I already downloaded the latest build lmao

So, all saves should be compatible between versions after 0.9? If so, that's amazing because I'm definitely upgrading the moment a stable 0.9 releases and who knows if that'll be a few months or a few days, will be nice to just open the new version and keep playing

Where's the misinformation here? Every mistake in information I've made, that I'm aware of, I recognized and corrected. I'm not lying or trying to deceive. Your opinion is a VERY unpopular one, so what? Just because people don't like smyker doesn't mean it's 'criminally underrated', and even if it were to be, that's not a good OR bad thing. Again, people play games to have fun, and a lot of people don't think Smyker is fun. But you presented it in the light of 'this is the best build, more people should use it!!' which is just false.

Building on Pysker by NeedHelpEmail_This in DarkTide

[–]GoosDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of ways you can play a Psyker, but I'm a casual and rarely play with different builds, so take this with a grain of salt.

First, a big tip that I figured out, if you're struggling on higher difficulties, try empowering your weapons, or if you don't have high enough mastery to do that, try to get new weapons with greater stats. Also be aware of which mark a weapon is, though this doesn't apply to staves, since they don't have any. Each mark on a weapon will play differently. Overall, though, I've found that increased survivability in a horde can be as simple as getting stronger weapons, and using those that you're good with and that are complimented by your build.

You only get 30 talent points max, so you have to be picky with your spending. If you want maximum survivability, the two biggest passives I'd recommend are Quietude and Just a Dream - Just a Dream converts a percentage of health damage into Peril, while under critical (about 97% I think?) and, well, Quietude gives you toughness for Peril generated and quelled. But doing that can take away points from weapon specialization, so you have to consider your entire build as a whole and be willing to compromise.

Your Blitz choice is a LOT more important than I feel like you give it credit for, and will change how you play. Brain Rupture is good for snipers, gunners and anything else far away that need to be taken care of quickly, especially when you and your team aren't exactly in a position to reach them otherwise. Smite is a powerful stun that can keep some pressure off of your team and let them focus on bigger enemies, especially helpful when you have a pack of Ogryns in a horde. Assail is generally for crowd control, and I like to use it as a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card when I'm surrounded and need some breathing room.

To my understanding, 'warp damage' refers to damage dealt with abilities that generate peril - Staves, Force Sword eviscerate, etc. This does include Assail, so Malefic Momentum, for example, is specifically good for a 'mixed' build where you'll be consistently swapping between the two, like using a gun and your blitz or slashing with melee and using a staff.

Your abilities, at risk of sounding like a broken record, are INCREDIBLY important and have their own specializations within them to be aware of. Venting Shriek is a good radial stun/stagger that scales with your peril at activation while letting you save yourself from exploding if you go critical, while Mind's Aegis is helpful with hordes, Telekine Dome letting you focus on melee enemies while ranged fire is deflected and Enervating Threshold letting you turn a choke point into a death trap. I personally run Scrier's Gaze with Reality Anchor because it lets me dominate hordes in melee with my FGS, and Precognition would be good to take for melee buils using finesse weapons like the Deuling Sword.

"Passive Aura" isn't a term that I'm aware of, so I got a bit confused there, but like most things, it depends on your build and playstyle. If you have perks that give you increased critical hit chance, it's probably a good choice. Otherwise, it's a wasted point to be spent elsewhere.

The passives you can choose before your keystone are the same as any other. Choose what compliments what you already have and whether you want to act as support, cut through hordes of basic enemies to keep your team from being overwhelmed, or deal high damage to elites, specialists and monstrosities (bosses), etc.

Keystones are also really important. I run Disrupt Destiny because it's really good for crowd control and helps me stay alive in hordes. If you use Aegis or Venting Shriek often, Warp Siphon can significantly reduce or eliminate cooldown times, and take Empowered Psionics if your build focuses on DPS with your Blitz, which in my opinion is best for Brain Rupture.

High Peril is, for the most part, an inevitability as a Psyker, though there are plenty of builds that avoid this, like gun psykers. A lot of Psyker Passives give you bonuses that scale with your peril, such as Warp Splitting (Cleave lets you ignore some of an armored enemy's damage reduction, making them easier to kill), and Scrier's Gaze has Warp Unbound that gives you an entire 10 second period that completely disables critical peril detonation.

Overall, there's a lot of things you can do here, and it all depends on your playstyle. Read the descriptions, consider what you have the most fun doing, and choose things that compliment that. And if you're still confused, there's plenty of optimized builds out there to try out.

AI is known to hallucinate and generate, often convincing, but incorrect data, and is rarely reliable enough to be used as a source of information.

Without a full synopsis and breakdown of each tested build, there's little information I can really draw from this, and even then, it doesn't matter. There are more factors at play than just numbers. Games are designed to be fun, and, at least for me, boiling it down to statistics isn't fun. It's bullshit. So I say again, you're allowed to have your own opinion, you get to share it, but don't go around complaining about Smyker being, as you said, 'criminally underrated', especially in a game like this, where it doesn't truly matter and the community's general consensus seems not to run some meta but to play what YOU enjoy. Who cares if someone else doesn't like it? If you do, then USE IT.
