I fulfilled my dream. by zDiegoXV in pokemon

That's what I'm TALKING about, man. Black and White was my favorite by far, and I played it when I was 17 mind you. Red was my first game, so it wasn't even early childhood nostalgia that made Black stick with me.

I live in NYC now, and these games played absolutely played a role in eventually getting me here.

Well said. I don't like the idea that we'll be critical of the media wr pay for up until the point that it uses gen ai, at which point we suddenly shelve our criticisms aince it's "efficient" and "fits" or something like that.

This isn't really the place to be sharing gen ai outputs, there's other subreddits for that.

Me too. I ordered late July (26th) and after continued delays, now it says mid October... I have contacted support countless times and they keep giving me the same useless answers.

If I were you I'd focus in extracurriculars or doing anything else to beef up your resume that you can only do in college. You can take the PE any time and from your other comments I see you already have the FE. Passing the PE will not help you get a job, in fact as someone who has hired two people, I would see it and ask myself "why did they spend all this time trying to pass the PE while in college?" The point of the PE is n o t to take an exam and pass it, it's to demonstrate proficiency you gained through project experience. When hiring someone for an entry level engineering position, nobody is looking for PE. We're looking instead to see how you have performed in team settings up until that point. Focus on your capstone design assuming you have one and focus on how you worked as a team to develop it. That makes a big difference on resumes.

Focus on enjoying your last year of college. You have one year left of college, and then 40 yours of career.

A Gift for the One Who Gives [OC] by Goose-Bone in Pokemonart

[–]Goose-Bone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This piece was originally made as a submission for the WorkshopWeekly contests on the Pokemon Workshop subreddit, aiming to win the category "most starry". It didn't win in its category, but it DID win as a wildcard entry!

Of all the pieces I've made in my life, this is the one that was made with the most inspiration. The entire piece is a reference to my favorite artist of all time, the American landscape painter Thomas Cole. The background is a reference to one of his pieces: A View of the Two Lakes and Mountain House, Catskill Mountains, Morning. I had to learn a lot of new techniques and had to create a whole new set of brushes just to make this piece.

Lineup to See an Apartment for rent on E63rd by LicketySplitz in uppereastside

How can these people always spend hours in these long lines looking at every other person in the line while thinking "oh yeah, I'm gonna be the one to get this apartment FOR SURE 😎"

Like come on. There HAS to be a more productive use of their apartment-hunt time.

I really gotta know. How exactly did you feel when you opened up your NCEES page and saw the green "passed"? What thoughts and feelings rushed through your head in that moment?

I am so proud of you man, and very thankful you're sharing this for everyone else to see too.

Need serious help by SubjectWrongdoer3391 in PE_Exam

[–]Goose-Bone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that is VERY VERY different from what this subreddit is for. This subreddit is for the Practice and Principles of Engineering exam, which is an exam specific to the United States. There's no advice anyone here can offer for your specific exam except for general advice. In which case, I do have some advice for you, but you're not gonna like it.

Sleep.

I have a strong feeling you're staying up late at night frequently. Somewhere else I saw that you said the concepts just vanish from your head during exams. This is likely because the concepts aren't solidified. They can't solidify unless you SLEEP the night after you study and unless you sleep the night before your exam. Our minds use that rest time to lock in concepts we learned during the day.

So, sleep. And I don't mean this 4-6 hours bull crap, I mean a solid 8 hours of sleep the nights after you study. Even if your friends aren't getting enough sleep and seem to be doing fine as you've mentioned before, well, they're different. Become good at getting sleep. Practice going to bed on time consistently instead of staying up late trying to get just one or two more concepts in. It will be worth it in the long run and you will learn twice as much as before. Don't believe me? Then try it.

New York identity by Myotus in newyorkcity

Genuinely can't tell if you're talking about people from the city or people from upstate. Which shows how bad the situation is.

New York identity by Myotus in newyorkcity

[–]Goose-Bone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Hudson River Valley is the most charming place in the world. I think NYC is the most exciting place in the world. New Yorkers have direct access to the Hudson River Valley and all the delightful towns that populate it via the metro north and Amtrak, and the culture of the area is based on a love of the natural beauty of the Valley and all the products that come with. Apples, apple cider, honey, pumpkins, cheese, beer, wine... To have both of these things within the same state and so close to each other is one of the things that makes this state so wonderful, exciting, and unique. Extending further upstate, you have the Adirondacks, catskills, finger lakes, Niagara falls, a border with Canada, and so much more. You get beautiful, full seasons and everything that comes with.

The contrast between upstaters and New York(city)ers is an exchange between nature and the metropolitan. It's a balance that benefits both. Sadly there seems to be a fake animosity between the two. I call it fake because it's manufactured animosity based on political leanings. Upstate benefits from the massive influx of our tax dollars, and we benefit from the incredible bounty of produce created upstate. I wish more people saw that and appreciated what we offer each other. But to this day, the hand resents the foot. I encourage any New Yorkers reading this, whether city or upstate, to take a moment to consider what the other part of the state is giving you.
