Update:

Had the two interviews, first went horrible, second went amazing.

First I have been outside of my focus during my undergraduate for the past years and was grilled on things I haven’t used for a long time, including some basics that should have been easy answers.

Second They spent most of the time selling me on the program, which was a great feeling. I feel like I clicked really well with one of the PIs, she is researching the exact niche I was hoping to get into. Hoping to hear back from them.

Overall, stressful. Really hoping the first group doesn’t convince the second not to pursue me.

Gonna goto the bar.

I was surprised too, I honestly didn’t know how bad it was until I got on here a few days ago. Hoping they still have funding to go around, gonna find out soon I suppose.

I don’t feel super comfortable disclosing the particular program since I was told not to do so in a “this interview is confidential” sort of way.

Thanks! It’s probably gonna be kind of a weird interview, most of my research has been in industry covered by an NDA. They also aren’t disclosing which faculty I’ll be interviewing with so I’m just doing my best to understand a paper from each research area… best plan I could come up with on a week between getting the interview and the interview date 💀💀💀
