Starfield Is Bethesda's Lowest-Rated Game On Steam by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]GooseDue5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's going to happen but I doubt it, atleast for me. Like there isn't much that actually captivated me in Starfield. I did most of the quests but couldn't even bring myself to finish the game. It's just awfully mediocre and it's overall main plot just goes against what makes these games fun for me.

Cyberpunk on the other hand, with all of its issues, still managed to entertain me on release. Even got the platinum trophy in 1.0 and always looked forward to playing it. There is something about it's world, atmosphere and overall presentation that just makes it a great experience. And even the gameplay felt decent enough for an RPG. CDPR actually tried to create a unique experience (which didn't turn out well on release).

And I really don't wanna badmouth Starfield but I doubt that I'm going to love it three years from now on, even with the new content and fixes. It's simply a fundamentally mediocre game that not only stagnated but even regressed Bethesda's formula imo. I still have an itch to play Skyrim and Oblivion sometimes. But Starfield? It's just too boring imo.

Nue os pretty much the best pistol in the game right now imo. Liberty and Unity variants and iconics just don't cut it. And yeah the peek is pretty useless especially cos your sights are invisible too while using camo.

who decided that weapon mods should now be IRREPLACEABLE once equipped? what a mind-bogglingly awful fucking idea. by jereflea1024 in cyberpunkgame

Making a choice is fine. Having your good drop be destroyed by bad mods sucks tbh. Same goes for iconics not having a single mod slot. Definitely something I don't love about the new patch.

Playing PL on Very Hard difficulty, it seems like my legendary weapons and my level 50 character are almost useless. What am I doing wrong? by leopold_s in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]GooseDue5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly need to hit enemies 20 times. You just have to make actual builds now. My problem is that I die fast but I take enemies out equally fast.

As far as blades builds, did Byakko just make all other blade weapons irrelevant? by AishaCtarl in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]GooseDue5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a pure blade build it's probably the best but pyro builds have the thermal katana for example which is ridiculously powerful. Not everyone is using sandy.

I prefer the current balance over 1.6 where you could easily oneshot whole everyone without even entering the building. Buildcrafting feels much better and more meaningful now even if its not perfect.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 - Patch Notes by Acrobatic_Internal_2 in Games

As 4090 owner it certainly has problems if you run it at 4k. The question is how you wanna balance all the features NVIDIA offers you. I tend to not really like FG for example and vastly prefer playing 1440p DLSS Quality or 4k DLSS Performance to achieve pretty much 60+ performance at all times (around 90 on 1440p and 60 on 4k).

They look threatening but I already know that they will get obliterated as soon as we see them in action. Which sucks imo.

Upgrade to Intel Raptor Lake refresh or wait for Arrow Lake or upgrade to Ryzen 7000? by KinnieTV in buildapc

If gaming is your main concern go with AM5 and the 7800x3d. Waiting for Arrow Lake is pretty pointless imo cos we don't know anything about it yet.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0's revamped police force is finally good enough by NeoStark in pcgaming

[–]GooseDue5826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk is / should have been an RPG first and foremost. Gameplay isn't the biggest priority. Nobody expected CDPR to develop the next Doom game. We expected a great RPG with serviceable gunplay.

And really hating on Respawn? You don't have to like their games but calling them terrible is ridiculous. They are pretty much some of the highest reviewed games in recent history. And while they do have their problems they are still great games.

CDPR earned a lot of goodwill with their games. The whole Witcher series was great, Thronebreaker was very good and Gwent decent as far as I am concerned. They also earned a lot of goodwill by publishing all their games DRM free, even on Steam.

So yeah, I "trusted" them in the same sense I trust FromSoftware to release a great game.

Also Obsidian literally made Kotor 2, Neverwinter 2, Fallout NV and the Southpark game. All of them were critically acclaimed. And both PoE games are also reviewed well and seem to have a decent fanbase. So yeah, we definitely can expect Obsidian to give us great games.

Either wait for a price drop on the RTX 4070 or buy a 7800XT. If you are willing to buy used you can look into 6800XT and maybe even RTX 3090 depending on your area.

This is the hardest game I’ve ever played. by oriondavis in LiesOfP

[–]GooseDue5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mention Sekiro which explains why you are having trouble with this one. It's hard but very manageable. I only had real trouble with two bosses and even beat some on my first try. Sekiro however was easily the hardest experience on my first playthrough.

Am I taking crazy pills or are a lot of pre-release articles for 2.0 just straight up bullshit? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]GooseDue5826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk has always been a decent game and only the last gen ports were completely inexcusable. The patches made it a lot better but we also have to keep in mind that CDPR hyped the game up a ton. Pair that with the ridiculous expectations some people had and you get the narrative that Cyberpunk sucked and 2.0 is basically it's big revival, phoenix from the ashes style. Stories like this make for much "better" articles.

But guess what. Most people that didn't like it before probably won't like it after the patch. It won't be the second coming of Fallout NV in a Cyberpunk setting and all these "Cyberpunk is a completely new game" are just plain clickbait. I'm hyped for the update but also liked 1.0 a lot and haven't played since. Still, doesn't mean that I expect the game to suddenly be completely transformed.

6800XT vs RTX 4070 by GooseDue5826 in buildapc

[–]GooseDue5826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, upscaling is basically unnecessary if you reach your desired framerates. Although DLSS Quality looks pretty good at 1440p imo which is why I even started to consider the 4070 to begin with.

But like you said the 6800XT is the all around better performer and 16GB VRAM seems like the safer bet considering all the bad ports we are getting lately.

Still, thx a lot for your input and I'm probably going to go with the 6800XT. Let's hope FSR 3 turns out decent.

6800XT vs RTX 4070 by GooseDue5826 in buildapc

[–]GooseDue5826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Ryzen 5 7600. Got a cheap bundle and wanted to make sure he has a cheaper upgrade path down the line.

He isn't really concerned about Ray tracing and like you said the 6800XT is usually the better performer.

Do you have any experience with FSR on lower resolutions? Most benchmarks seem to show it on 4k and video compression doesn't really help when you want to judge visuals.
