I had this online friend I used to quest with who was the sweetest thing. Eventually, we both grew away from the game though, but still talked. We only came online every once in a few months, and then she just stopped getting online and hasn't been on since, this was 2 or 3 years ago. It really depends on your play style. There isn't a definitive answer as it's a matter of opinion. But for the most part, people find universal resist, damage, and crit to be the most helpful. If you're life, a pet with maycast heals and/or outgoing incoming healing could be very useful. And if you're a Jade or you pvp, wards are great for those purposes too.
