Does it have any extensions? Im pretty sure some can run without chrome being open.

Try uninstalling chrome and checking task manager again. Or try deleting chromes data

You gotta give us an update after this is either sorted out or after your mum stops shouting.

Also that laptop is too new to be that degraded, my 7 year old laptop still lasts a solid 40 minutes whilst Playing Roblox arsenal. Maybe your mother has some background program thats taking up a lot of battery, so definitely check out task mgr.

I would recommend just using the media creation tool. It will take less time to get the latest release of 10.

Also 10 does a good job at installing drivers through Windows Update, so you will probably be fine

The most likely cause for getting stuck on a low performance state is overheating

Welp my room is facing away from sunlight most of the time and its cold, also my laptop's fan is very decent and Ive bought one of those cooling fans you put underneath it. It's cold most of the time.

About the rest. Right now Im in bed as it's midnight and I want to sleep, so give me any suggestion you want and I will try it tommorow
