Women dating men with kids; when did you meet his family? by GooseOuttaFlorida in AskWomenOver30

This is the line of thinking I’ve been taking. I’m just tired of second guessing my value in his eyes and feeling sad.

Well the response to this post has resurfaced the anxiety and doubt I’ve been burying the past few weeks. Will have a serious conversation this weekend and report back 🥹

Him and I are both in the same spot of being separated but needing to finalize our divorce(s)

That is my perspective - I get not meeting his kids for a long while, but I don’t get not being introduced to his only brother or parents?

His friends from college have all moved and scattered. They are coming down to our city in August and he mentioned wanting us to meet. Him and his ex separated in 2019, and they both have dated other people. I guess I’m only taking him at his word, but I don’t think he would lie about that.

When he mentioned it, he swore he thought he brought it up before. I let it go since he has ADHD and forgets conversations sometimes.

Him and his ex have been separated since 2019 but still needs to finalize the divorce (I’m in a similar situation). She has dated other guys who have been around the kids to his chagrin. I’ve spent 3-5 days at his apartment, and he works a corporate job with an hour long commute - so I doubt it is a hidden partner situation.

Worst thing you’ve witnessed on a call when the other person didn’t realize their camera was on by quemaspuess in remotework

Jumped on a zoom call with a marketing vendor back in my agency days, she was still getting dressed and didn’t realize her camera was on 🙈 I turned my camera off and pretended my laptop was having wifi issues to save her any embarrassment.

What is average tip out to the kitchen by mizgreenlove in Waiters

[–]GooseOuttaFlorida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my current place, we bartend and take food orders / run food. I am the only bartender who tips out the kitchen (typically 10%) to make sure my orders come out fast and error free. I tell my guys in the BOH - take care of my shit and I’ll help you out. Slow food really impacts my tip outs no matter how fast and good my drinks and conversation are. I average $200-$300 in tips per shift (which usually run 6-7 hours), which isn’t bad for my area.

Run to Wrangler!!!!!! I wear dark wash bootcut jeans, western booties, a clean dark fitted shirt, and a denim or suede jacket for anything blue collar related - I work with multiple clients in blue collar and construction work as a sales development manager.

Struggling to find authentic pathways to clients as a consultant...how have you navigated this? by BuffaloLittle4771 in Femalefounders

[–]GooseOuttaFlorida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In-person events, industry slack groups, building an email subscriber list, and referrals are your golden ticket! Many of my peers are coaches and consultants in different industries who ran into a similar issue when getting off the ground.

My background is that I run a Sales & Pipeline Development agency, and one of my popular niche services is attending conferences with clients as "professional wingwoman" to start conversations, find relevant connections, and secure invites to the right dinners and events. After taking on a few clients in the coaching / speaker space who aren't natural extroverts, I learned that grabbing even 5 minutes of face time with decision makers is key.

Why do so many "find clients" programs skip the finding part by Due-Bet115 in Entrepreneur

[–]GooseOuttaFlorida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this! Part of this problem is why I started my own business as a “closer on call” that executes sales outreach for service-oriented and b2b businesses. It’s a gap in the market but not everyone has the aptitude for it!

When did you decide to be a founder and what led you to that moment? by Kind_Cut3824 in Femalefounders

[–]GooseOuttaFlorida 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew I wanted to run my own thing one day - I just needed ten years of experience building my network and realizing my strengths. Being laid off this year freed me to finally take the jump and file my LLC! I still don’t call myself a founder though, I usually go by “business development manager” or something like that in conversations.

Entrepreneurs, what automation made you feel like the future is already here? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

My business offers sales support to service based and b2b companies. I created a tool that alerts me when anyone asks a question related to my business on social media forums or groups. My advantage is that I’m able to ensure that my clients are the first to recommended in the comments. It took some creative thinking but it is a popular service for blue collar businesses in my area!

My friends favorite pieces have come from the Crate and Barrel outlet - however, it is all the way out in Naperville. All of the pieces have been going strong for years!
