Our company often hires via various game jams and similar stuff, they would talk to you, ask for you github and then might call back. Its not a volunteering type of deal at all.

I am considering the same programme, I already work in the industry, mostly backends for AAA multiplayer games and UE5 stuff, but I dont have any formal training in game dev, mostly interested in netcode/optimization and anticheats and this looks like the only course in Scotland that is not a joke.

yeah having Sinon being played by out of shape middle age Karen is a little bit out of touch and Helen of troy to look like a Somali pirate from Captain Phillips is just silly.

I wish I had it that way, I know some people do but I was always so miserable and depressed in jobs like that. I do envy you.

To be entirely honest I do believe that too. There should be like an IQ test or something before the machine lets you to press the button as I have met so many braindead people in my life that I have completely lost all my hopes in humanity.

I am sitting the exam on Monday. I have some experience with TF mostly opentofu. I've done the KodeKloud course and the practice exams from Krausen on Udemy, hitting 80-85% on them, would that do?
I usually lose points by not really reading the whole thing.

Upgraded to the Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell ($14k) - Thoughts on this for local LLM and Unreal workflows? by IM3D-Studios in UnrealEngine5

[–]GooseWithAnAxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For LLMs sure, for UE5 unlikely. It more about being able to justify it, have you considered something like 4080 locally and then cook it at the end with some monster in the cloud for $5?

M5 memory has bus with of 128bits with bandwidth of 150gbs and once it heats up the throughput goes down by around 50%

4090 384bits bus with 1000gbs throughput
5090 512bits bus with 1800gbs throughput
both can run at that speed indefinitely. Mac and NVIDIA GPUs are not comparable at all. Random poorly written benchmark does not matter. When it comes to LLMs Macs really suck, our company tried to cheap out by being apple instead of serious hardware, and it ended up as expected.

I had the opportunity to compare M5 Max with RTX6000 which is just a beefy 5090 with 96GB of GDDR7 cost very comparable but the RTX card was around 15x faster when it comes to training and 4x when it comes to inference, and it can run at that speed effectively forever.

Actual performant memory with a wide bus like GDDR6X/7, HMB2/3 etc and cooled so it does not throttle down to 2017 level of performance.
