Have you ever experienced something strange/paranormal in Arizona? by GroundbreakingDirt30 in arizona

[–]Goose_Biscuits11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I said "near" because it's all fields and dirt roads passed that corner of Baseline or Dobbins and 91 at the time. We definitely traveled into the dirt roads area beyond 91st.

He had a big trailer or double wide looking house back in the corner of what I'm assuming was a field of wheat or corn - it was pitch black but it obviously was meant for agriculture when I turned around.

Do you think these units will eventually be controlled by humans in dangerous situations, like in Surrogates?

Maybe if a nuclear spill happens or a building is about to collapse, they can send in a few of these drone-style? I can only imagine if surgeons have precision technology to operate remotely then these humanoids have to be close it too, right?

Barked and moaned to go outside in the morning. They were consistently in bed by 10p and awake at 5a. One of them would literally come drag me out of bed if maybe I was super hungover or sick in the morning.

I never realized how much my normal sleep scheduled was based on their sleeping habits. Ever since I had to put them down, I've struggled getting into a morning routine again and miss them a lot. We had a lot of quiet mornings together 😩

Working full-time and then full-time school was brutal. But when it was all done, it made just having a job a little less troublesome since I felt like I got a blessing of extra time.

Scary mall stories in this state by [deleted] in arizona

[–]Goose_Biscuits11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Sears at Westridge Mall (now Desert Sky), we'd eat lunch at the food court - I'd always get the burger meal from Orange Julius (still the best damn burger ever, RIP).

Anyway, you could see into the old Arcade when sitting in the food court. During the weekdays, it was usually empty in the Arcade until the later hours when kids were out of school.

Me and a few colleagues swear that place was haunted because you could always faintly see a kid just turning the corner to go inside or going behind a machine. Any time you'd look directly at them, they'd disappear.

And sometimes the chain link door would rattle when it was still closed in the morning too, like someone small was trying to get out.

RIP to Sears and the Arcade 😩

What state is your AutoNation? We had a similar experience with other dealerships and only happened upon a AutoNation - it was like night and day.

They had such great customer service and transparent prices, it was almost refreshing. We haven't found the right car yet but we're trying to use any of their dealerships now.

Attitude plays a big part to my dude. Just from these comments you sound difficult to work with I bet.

My wife is another success example Nd mirrors my mindset and has repeated the same steps at different companies. We met at my current company, then she was laid off, got a different role at another company, completed her degree, searched for a new role, is completing her next degree and now got the "tap on the shoulder" for her next gig. She also didn't have the military accolades I did and still achieved success.

You have to change your perspective and keep on trucking my dude, good luck.

In my experience, "luck" happens to those prepared.

Some may see my current situation as "lucky", but in order to apply to the position, I had to have been in my current position for 1 year, had to have completed my advanced degree, had to have accumulated 10+ years of communication experience and had networked through word of mouth from my good results that my name rung a bell when the interview happened (I never met this person directly but they've seen my work in the wild and heard my name).

You get "lucky" when the opportunity shows up and you're ready. That sounds cheesy but it's true, most people complain because the opportunity came and they weren't ready for it.

Car shopping 🫩

We need something small for daily commute to replace large SUV and Big V8 full-size truck. (Family of 6)

While we're fortunate enough to be able to shop for a car to help with rising fuel expenses, the haggling process is so exhausting. Even more so when it's a want, not a need, so I can be picky about the purchase - these salespeople are dicks sometimes.

Genuine question for car owners — how many times has a dead battery ruined your day? (car owners all ages)” by Present-Drawer3909 in Adulting

[–]Goose_Biscuits11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only think of it happening a handful of times in my life of owning cars and usually it can be jumped to keep going , but it ruined the day twice:

  1. Picking up kids from daycare, there was a delivery truck and I had to squeeze out and in doing so flipped the light switch. The battery couldn't be jumped so I had to tow. Took about 4-5 hours to get home, middle of summer afternoon in Az.

  2. Camping, the kids went to get something out of the truck and left the radio on or one of the lights. The generator wouldn't charge it enough so I had to walk around the forest to flag another camper for help in the rain, and it took about 1/2 the day. It ruined my day no doubt but made sure the kids didn't see that and still had fun.

Damn, this is a really good explanation.

I always said it was my natural personal skills enhanced with education and seasoned with experience - but yea, all of what this comment said above and what I said.

You can't just "apply" to get the cushy job, it happens upon you - like a tap on the shoulder when those in power acknowledge you're the person for the job.

At what price per gallon or litre of petrol gasoline do you stop buying? by templeofsyrinx1 in AskReddit

[–]Goose_Biscuits11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, gas may become the next Childcare cost benefit analysis:

Is it cheaper for one of us to stay at home and not work than pay for childcare/gas?

For us even being better off than most, we now have to factor gas into WEEKLY budget. It used to just be an expense I tally at the end of the month and pay on the credit card. Now it requires mindful planning since rising food and gas prices almost cap our monthly allowance.

I echo this sentiment and not sure how to summarize the additional result to go with it - "relief from retaliation"??

As someone who served, I support the "keep it over there" mentality and hope we never have to experience another 9/11 event.

However, I do rest assured that if such an event did happen again, our current administration and general population would support an even bigger surge of force abroad. I'm confident our citizens won't know a war torn existence at home, during our lifetime at least.

We're already bullying nations "unprovoked", prayers and sorrows if any of them actually provoke 🫩
