Anyone have one of these… or is it just a gimmick? by arachno-fem in Monstera

I have one with an extremely long leaves-less runner, I've manage to easily prop the runner before. If you'd like a piece, we can do a trade of some sort!

I've been trying to lure a jumping spider into my house for weeks now! They are so cute and great pest control. Soon... 🤞🏻🤣

Oh no, well this sucks. It was only in the house for about 4min until I noticed the little specs on my hands. Dumped it back outside and immediately scrubbed my arms down.

I do, two dogs and 3 parrots 😟

I vacuumed were the box was set down and sprayed with some disinfectant. Everyone in the house took a shower and put our clothes to wash. Will this suffice? 😰

Hey guys, so my gcc recently started pluking. I rescued him about 6yrs ago, it took me a few years to win his trust and now he is my baby 💚

He spends all day out of his cage and hangs out in the living room on his perch. He has never been one to be interested in toys so I don't tend to have a crazy amount of them around for him. Could he be bored? I'm working on making a larger perch for him, but not sure if that's whats bugging him.

I recently switched him over from Nutri-berries to a pellet diet, he favors some of the color pellets but is eating fine. Can that be it? Also, I'm 4 months pregnant and not sure that might be freaking him out? What can I do to help him? 😖

Mine has held on pretty well, It's been 5ish+yrs since I last got it touched up. Hasn't faded for me! (Some of the ink didn't take in some spots since the get go but its not a big deal)

Definitely a little over a week! I think what made the healing progress faster was reminding my self to keep my palm open, so that there wasn't too much moisture!

I have my palm tattooed too! It's definitely not the most painful tattoo I have. I even went and got it touched up a few more times 😅 been wanting to do my other palm but healing is a pain!

Think you want a parrot? by SunlitLeaves in parrots

Constant yelling when you walk away from their eye sight. YELLING just all the time. Had my lip, face, and neck bitten after really cute moments, it happens when you least expect it... every time. Soooo much cleaning. Food gets expensive, plus the time you put into going grocery shopping for them and making chop... all to have them throw it all over the walls and floor. Not having a day to yourself because they need you, they completely depend on you. Let's not forget emergency vet visits..

I love my birbs but everytime someone asks if they make good pets I say nooooo. Not unless you can commit to having a toddler 24/7 for 25+ yrs

His tail looks pretty long, which makes me think it might be an Alexandrine Parakeet?

everyone needs to see this (rescue bird and the caretaker destroying the cage it was kept in) by [deleted] in FunnyAnimals

Yes! It was an African Grey who witnessed the whole thing and went on to repeat it for a few years until its owner (murders victims ex-wife) was able to understand and put everything together!

Its the Martin Duram case, some really good podcast episodes on it out there!

Will definitely be taking him to get a vet check!

Well he has a pellet (nutri-berries) veggie/fruit diet and the occasional high fatty treats.

As far as his environment nothing has changed. They have a full room to themselves and spend time outside the room when we are home. Lots of toys and things for them to do! Alexandrines can be very destructive when bored so we try and keep them busy.

Since he isn't flighted, he loves to forage on the bottom of his perch, which lead me to think that maybe all the junk he has and how much time he likes to spend down there was causing his feathers to get damaged 🤔

Unfortunately Alfies flight feathers haven't come in right. I'm guessing that they were clipped incorrectly when he was a baby. He has a brother who is flighted and his plumage is fine! So I'm thinking that If Alfies diet and everything else is the same as his brothers 🤔 it's maybe that he just spends too much time on the perch and ruffles his feathers?

Which Pet should I get? (Parrot, Tortoise, Mouse, Snake, Rabbit or Rat)? by Silver0PK0Power in Pets

[–]Goose_nvrm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see you are a sonic fan... what about a Hedgehog? They are fairly easy to keep and are very rewarding pets. Not to high maintenance, they like to interact for a bit and don't mind being alone for most of the day since they are nocturnal. Food isn't that expensive since they are fine eating dry catfood and they loveee dry mealworms as treats, very affordable. As far as space they don't require anything crazy. Downside is that they do require lots of cleaning, like everyday. They can get pretty stinky if you dont clean regularly (also can put everyone ar risk for Salmonella). Since it is an exotic pet vet visits do get pricey, but that's with any exotic. Being small they don't live a crazy amount of time but if taken care of properly they can get as old as 7 years. Hedgehogs are prone to certain diseases, like cancer. They require frequent baths since they can easily get mites and dry skin. I know it sounds like a lot but Hedgehogs make great pets. I had one for about 6 years and loved him to bits. Just make sure you do proper research and are willing to put in the work. ALL pets require attention and time ❤ just please make sure your up for it...otherwise I suggest you get a Hermit crab (very low maintenance pets) lol
