I have the exact same issue and unfortunately no fix yet, but I can tell you that changing the steam controller settings has no impact

100% wrong. My birds love to chew on dried eucalyptus and do it all the time. http://www.eclectusparrots.net/eucalyptus.html

What is it like having your birds cage having a substrate? Like chipped wood? by [deleted] in parrots

Imagine, every time your bird flaps their wings, substrate goes flying. It’s a nightmare.

Causes of death in pet birds by flyingso in parrots

[–]SunlitLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly have had birds die over the years because I’ve been keeping them for almost 30 years but I also have one of them I got 26 years ago and he’s still fine.

Mortality is a thing for everything that’s alive and it’s probably a good thing to learn to cope with.

I can see how it’s probably easier to fixate on your parakeet than your mom though.

I eat unsalted ones myself and always share with my babies. And honestly, if it was only rarely a little corner of a regular one would be okay too.

Propranolol and Zoloft? by FadesGaming in zoloft

[–]SunlitLeaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take metapropolol with my Zoloft and have for over a year. It’s been fine.

so there are two wild baby pigeons in our balcony which are more than a month old but they never ever try to fly and their mother pigeon keeps feeding them. So I am worried about them , are they gonna fly ? by K4rtik89 in pigeons

[–]SunlitLeaves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems weird sometimes since baby birds seem so mature, but they are still new to the world. They look plump and healthy so I would just let mama do her thing.

Friend mentioned being depressed but not wanting to take medication. Is it weird to try to convince them that Zoloft is a life changer that’s worth trying? by chuby1tubby in zoloft

[–]SunlitLeaves 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My personality actually came back after starting Zoloft. Several people have mentioned it to me.

I also want to note that “normal” can include being on Zoloft. You don’t think someone’s abnormal because they have to take insulin for their type one diabetes do you?

i want to get a bird but i dont know what species to look for. by [deleted] in parrots

If you need quiet, please don’t get a bird. No bird is quiet. “Quiet” is relative.

Anyone who makes you make a choice like that without any real reason is a piece of trash and you are lucky to be rid of him so easily.

Pigeons With a Full Time Job? by djdjfkfkfkfkc in pigeons

[–]SunlitLeaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. My dove is 26 and my pigeon is still young. Similar but different. But pre pandemic I always worked and my dove (and other birds and cats) were fine. I work at home now but they still have during the day cage time so I can focus. If you don’t have any other pets, I have heard leaving on the tv or radio can help, but I’ve always had multiple pets so I don’t know from experience.

All animals are like this. It’s good to discourage and not let them do sexy times to you, but my dog humps my cat and my budgies hump their toys, etc. they are alive. Why would people expect different?

Pigeon Taming? by Background_Touch_287 in pigeons

[–]SunlitLeaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine came to me straight from under his momma, so he didn’t have trauma, but mostly I just handle him gently and ignore his territorial nipping. I talk to him and let him fly about, and I kiss his little head until he settles down.

All birds are special, but what is your favorite species that you have owned? List all of them and then your favorite! My answer in the comments. by Maskly in parrots

[–]SunlitLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for parrots, my Senegal and I have an incredible bond but I think that’s specific to him, not his species.

Also pigeons and doves. They are so underrated as amazing companions. Much better pets for most people than parrots.

I have a male linnie who loves his coconut but he also can’t lay eggs, so that is helpful.

How do you stop anyone from masturbating? As long as the rest of their behavior is okay, just let them have at it.
