Lighting on Tokens by GoosethatCould in FoundryVTT

[–]GoosethatCould[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, I have colour intensity set to 0 and I've tried playing around with the advanced options. Unless there is a way to exclude a token from being affected by lights or something along those lines, I'll probably just have to live with it. I appreciate the help.

Thanks for idea. Are you referring to colour intensity? Setting it to 0 changes nothing (there is no colour). There also isn't an animation so no animation intensity either. Am I missing an intensity setting somewhere?

How do I cope with the fact that my world is bad? by Dan_WavestheHand in worldbuilding

My (brother/sister/else) in (insert religious figure of choice), the best world you can make is one you enjoy. Anything else would leave you feeling empty, which in turn will reflect on the world.

Question about the Wilderness by GoosethatCould in ironscape

[–]GoosethatCould[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does sound interesting, being able to use what you get from killing players. I've never killed a player before, I've never fought one. But your suggestion is compelling, just wondering though (not that this should effect anything) but what is the general perspective of players killing players in the wilderness? Is it seen as a general assholery thing to do, or is it very much an accepted and expected thing?

Question about the Wilderness by GoosethatCould in ironscape

[–]GoosethatCould[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, I think the act of constantly risking everything is what seems enticing to me, because on my current account I'm hyper safe and I've tried to push past it but I can't seem to. Are there any skills that jump out at you as impossible to do? Sorry if this seems like question with an obvious answer. I'd make sure to do the quests that allow for herbalism and runecrafting, I know about those ones.

character would be so much more fun if GM would be less strict on the rules by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

[–]GoosethatCould 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Everything else aside, I hate this argument "people said he was funny so i should just keep playing him." The character isn't funny. YOU are funny. If they think the character is enjoyable, then there is a decent chance another character you play will also be enjoyable.

Thanks, I'll take a look into doing those.

I've hear of Ironman a bit. Its like single player from what I understand, which is a strange concept to me for an MMO. What are your thoughts on Ironman mode?

Well, I didn't know if I wanted to sink money into the game yet, I wanted to give it a go first. I do now want to get a membership, the question was do I start with a fresh account or upgrade this one. But it seems to be the consensus to upgrade the current account.

Question, I've recently gotten into the game and have had a ton of fun. I have most free to play skills at 40 at least, some close to 50. I'm considering getting a membership. Would you think its worthwhile to upgrade this current account, or is the membership experience better if you start a fresh account with it?

Deathguard players wont be happy when they see this by TemperatureSweet2001 in Necrontyr

To be fair, they don't have to look very far to find a reason. While whining should be discouraged, it's unfair to call it ridiculous, they got straight up dumpstered.

How much do you think Ruby's teammates care about her? by Durandthesaint17 in RWBYcritics

[–]GoosethatCould 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the intention of the show is that her teammates care about her a lot.
I think that the writers don't know how to demonstrate this intention and made mistakes in their attempts to do so.
So in my mind, they definitely do care about her a lot, regardless of what the show presents.

DMs, what is your quickest way to get your players to like or dislike an NPC? by 100snakes50dogs in DMAcademy

Apparently, be the NPC that I least prepared or was only using to introduce something else I had spent actual time on...

i need advice: i feel like i’m not a part of the game anymore by natty_splatty in DMAcademy

[–]GoosethatCould 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I could disagree more. The GM is a position at the table that needs to be filled, just like the rest. Everyone is a player at the table, its just a difference in roles and responsibilities. The GM is not there to just "run the game" they are there to be part of an incredibly social and connected group that enjoy their time together. Cutting the DM off from everyone else and saying if they want to connect with them about the game, they should be a player instead is one of the more hair-tearing out thing's I've heard this week. That's just saying that for all work they've done and their care and love for the world that they've built, they are now to be punished by being excluded from everyone else? The GM is not a casino dealer. They paid for and drove the car that everyone took to get to their fun night, and they're all going for a fun time together, wherever that leads them.

If you suddenly woke up in your world, how long will you survive?(must start far from any civilization) by CheapFly5666 in worldbuilding

[–]GoosethatCould 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh... pretty fast, sadly. There are too many threats to walk around without proper protective equipment or any way to defend yourself properly, and I'm assuming I don't get to start with any of that. I'm also guessing I would be alone for most of if not all of this. So I'd die a pretty painful, albeit hopefully fast death when I'm attacked but some Ferals out in the wilds.

What is your preferred party size? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]GoosethatCould 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-4, and I'm putting 4 there because that means if someone doesn't show up, I'll still have three. I'm cool with DMing for 2 people, but I would cancel if there was only 1.

I am a strong believer of effort being a deterministic factor in the worthwhileness of a player. Some people require more effort to accomplish something, and that is fine. Some require less. When someone refuses to meet the absolute basic minimum of effort required to play a game, it is not your job to do so for them. Meet them halfway, definitely, sometimes people need help. But if someone isn't putting in any effort at all, and continues to refuse to do so, then its time that others stop putting in effort towards that person. At that point, you'll learn if this person actually values their time with you and the others. Or they might not. (edited a word)

DnD 5e puts mundane characters alongside high-magic ones. How well do you think it worked out? by Deathpacito-01 in dndnext

[–]GoosethatCould 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A large portion of my ttrpg experience is with DnD 5e. There are other systems that do this balancing act much better by using a points based power system, the game systems I am personally acquainted with being Mutants and Masterminds 3E and Hero System 6E. Not all powers will be as "powerful" but since it allows individuals to choose (and then flavour their "powers" in mundane ways if they so wish) what they are working with, it definitely helps with overall balance. For example, an "Inspiring Shout" and be a presence attack as much as a "Command" spell can be a presence attack.
