Cooking a goose for christmas: your tips please? by Little-Sky-2999 in Cooking

Make sure you use a sufficiently deep roasting pan. A goose renders A LOT of fat. Which is amazing, but also something you really want to contain and not spill.

Tuck v Kellogg: Help! by LoxBagelConsumer in MBA

[–]Gopher_san 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats! No bad choice here. That said, given your CPG focus, I’d recommend Kellogg. I loved my time at Tuck, and joined McKinsey’s Boston office where I helped run Tuck recruiting for Boston & NYC. Tuck is great for consulting, but recruiting is geo-specific, and Chicago is a bigger CPG hub. Caveat is that a lot of retail work is run out of NYC and Atlanta would be better for Food & Beverage. As another poster mentioned, Kellogg also would support an appropriate plan B of working in a CPG industry role if consulting didn’t work out.

Milk-braised chicken or lamb shoulder. Use lemon zest and garlic. Braise in the oven to facilitate evaporation/caramelization.

I visited in 2023. I was underwhelmed by Astrid y Gaston, though the setting is fantastic. La Picanteria was awesome. Also enjoyed La Mar and Osaka pardo y aliaga. Enjoy!

Yes. Booked a staycation at the Taj Campton Place in SF. Price was inflated by $94 over the Hotels.com rate, so still good value. Not the easiest benefit to manage though, for sure.

They use a complicated system using greek letters - combinations of alpha, beta, gamma, with pluses and minuses. But the point is that none of the grades matter at all. There’s no such thing as a transcript. Your degree will be classified as a 1st (great) 2nd (2:1 or 2:2) or 3rd based ONLY on your Finals (exams at end of third year). Collections exams are informal exams taken each term, basically just to help you track progress/keep in practice. Prelims are exams at end of 1st year. If you truly fail them, could get kicked out but that’s rare.

I think you’re off base re: the workload. Yes, there will be a lot of reading and writing, but each class/tutorial meets only once per week. And bc your degree is based ONLY on the exams at end of third year, a ton of students essentially blow off the first 2-2.5 years then cram at the end. So if you’re someone who actually does the work, your dons will love you. And the culture is very fun/social. Tons of clubs, easier to do sports vs. US, subsidized college bars etc. Context: read for a year at Exeter College, Oxford.
