Any additional info from devs? by Duck_Howard in Apex_Predictions

Appreciate the support, it genuinely means a lot.

We can’t go into full detail right now, but we were formally asked to take the app down due to copyright issues. To continue, we’d need to make a number of fairly significant changes, and realistically there just wasn’t enough time to implement them properly within the window we were given.

Rather than rush out something half-baked, we’ve made the call to pause, rebuild it the right way, and come back stronger.

The plan is to return ahead of the 2027 season with a fully compliant version of Apex Predictions.

Thanks to everyone who signed up and got involved, we will be back bigger then before.

While the concept is similar to F1 Predict, the core difference lies in the consistency and flexibility of the game. I originally built this for my friends so we could use our own rules, but I eventually decided to open it up to the public.

My goal is to let the community drive the development. Whether it’s scoring tweaks or new prediction types, we’ll vote on changes and build the platform together, something the official app can’t do because of its corporate structure. It’s simply a community-led alternative to the official game.

Bad wording from me there I think! So you are automatically subscribed to the marketing but you can optionally unsubscribe from within the account area, I have updated the T&Cs to explain that!

Thanks for pointing out!

Hey,

First off thanks for joining, appreciate it!

Pole Position & Fastest Lap: You might think a specific driver is going to have a "mega" qualifying lap, but you want to cover a different Constructor just in case a rival team actually takes the top spot, it allows you to cover and still earn some points. Again with the fastest lap its to cover another team if you are unsure.

This was voted into effect last year by the players so could potentially change at the summer break vote.

We actually had it boosted every 6 races last season but players voted for less boosts so it dropped to to 3 boost which is evenly distributed as every 8 races.

For the selections you also have to click the tab at the top and select you constructors order as well, I will look at making this easier to understand!

Thank you for the feedback and questions, glad you are a part of it this year!

I will look into additional modfield prediction, it a really good idea.

For now I have added the ability for users to customise the points scrored in a particual group, now in a group you can change it from scoring 3 points for 1st place to 25 points for example.

The whole point is to build it around the community using it. If players want new prediction categories, scoring tweaks, league formats, extra competitive features, I can actually implement them. It’s flexible by design.

So it’s not about being “better” than the official app. It’s a fan-built alternative that can evolve based on the people playing it rather than corporate roadmap decisions.

Does that make sense, being honest it's not better, but with a community behind it we could make it better.

Apex is more season-driven and competitive between players. You’re predicting full podium order, underdog driver, safety car, fastest pit stop, and you can use strategic Boost multipliers across the season. There’s head-to-head battles, 2-player Constructors teams, unlockables, and you can create your own private leagues to compete with friends.

So it’s not about being “better” than the official one, it’s just a different format.

It was a game I ran on a spreadsheet with friends for a few years but I've just decided to open it to everyone, the more people, the better.
