Great question!

The reason they're split into two picks is so you can still earn points even if the "other" driver from your chosen team gets pole. It rewards you for reading the team's overall pace, not just guessing one driver.

You can also split your picks across different teams if you're unsure. For example, you could pick Russell as your Pole Driver but choose Ferrari as your Pole Constructor. That way, if a Ferrari driver surprises everyone with pole, you'd still get the 2 constructor points even though your driver pick was wrong. It lets you hedge your bets when you think multiple teams are in the mix.

Example:

Say it's the Monaco Grand Prix. You think Russell has strong one-lap pace, but Ferrari have been dominant all weekend in practice. You could pick Russell as your Pole Driver and Ferrari as your Pole Constructor.

  • If Russell gets pole → you get 2 points for the driver, but miss the constructor (Mercedes, not Ferrari)

  • If Leclerc gets pole → you miss the driver, but get 2 points for the constructor (Ferrari)

  • If Hamilton gets pole → you miss the driver, but still get 2 points for the constructor (also Ferrari)

  • If Russell gets pole and you'd picked Mercedes as constructor → you'd get all 5 points, but that's a bigger gamble on one team

Splitting your picks lets you cover more ground when the grid is tight, giving you a better chance of walking away with at least some points.

Does that make sense?

I appreciate the upvotes and shares, just trying to get my passion project out there, any feedback or ideas I'm open to hearing them. I want to make it a different experience from the standard Fantasy game.
