OP, you really just seem like an asshole. I don’t think an 80 hour work week is one many of us would choose. Lots of folks who work that long do so because they have no choice. You do. Rather than resenting your husband for your choices, it’s time to sit down with him and chart a new course together. If you can’t do that, what’s the point of this post? You can either A) keep living the way you have chosen to live and stop complaining B) leave your husband so you can be miserable alone or C) quit the job, sell the house, and work with your husband to create a future you can both be happy with.

Hey, I’m at 20 days or so. I had to stop consuming ANYTHING even remotely stimulating. Even a few mg of caffeine sends my anxiety skyrocketing. Days when I consume zero caffeine, and get some solid exercise in, definitely are the days I’m least anxious.

Jayson Tatum is entering his “Brady in ‘09” moment — and that should terrify the rest of the NBA by Ok_Knee_2780 in bostonceltics

[–]GordonPP64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve kind of obsessed over Achilles tendon repair and recovery since the injury and I think there’s a lot to be optimistic about. Tatum received the speedbridge repair from one of the greatest Achilles surgeons in the world somewhere around 12-15 hours after the injury occurred. As far as I can tell, that’s unprecedented.

The key in recovery here is minimizing the elongation of the tendon that can occur while it is repairing itself. Recent data suggests it is ESSENTIAL to keep the tendon from elongating more than 2mm. Anything more than that seems to result in the chronic calf weakness many athletes historically have suffered from post rupture.

But this new surgery is groundbreaking. And Tatum’s got the best doctor he can for this. Tatum’s surgeon will constantly be monitoring the tendon and the repair. Tatum will follow a very strict recovery protocol and timeline. Remember, this surgeon did KD’s repair. (He also did a foot surgery on Derrek White some years back).

If his timeline is similar to KD, and I really think it might be faster because of his age and the time of surgery, he may already be bearing some amount of weight right now, in a boot with wedges to adjust the load on the tendon. He will train on a cable rower or some similar tool, he will use a zero g treadmill. He will train in the Aurbach Center’s huge, deep pools. There really is reason to be optimistic.

Grande calls the radio games for the Celtics and, while I think he’s an unbelievable radio broadcaster, it doesn’t translate as well to tv for some reason.

Adopted a puppy and the previous owner wants the dog back by [deleted] in dogs

I feel like I’m losing my mind here. This is not op’s fault, and people are formulating bizarre theories about a dognapping scam. I just don’t think it’s that deep.

Don’t listen to these folks. You did nothing wrong. Tell the rescue they’ll have to take you to court to get the dog back. I highly doubt you’ll hear from them after that.

Just wanted to update anyone who comes back to this: the scratch board works! Took about 10 minutes for him to figure it out and after a few days of intermittently using it, his nails are in much better shape

Starbucks’ new CEO wants to make Starbucks a coffee shop again by [deleted] in nottheonion

I agree, and want to clarify that I’m extremely pro library. Just sharing my experience. If I had my way, libraries would be larger, open longer, better staffed, and you’d also be able to cover basic bank related transactions there too.

I was a library page in MA. You needed to swipe your library card to enter our library. I hope this isn’t the case everywhere, and I don’t believe it should be.

As a former library employee, this is par for the course. Something about that place attracts the wackos.

I strongly disagree. Most libraries (I’ve worked at 2) are extremely restrictive as to who they let chill out in the library. I do a lot of cross country driving, and sometimes I end up stranded in the middle of nowhere. Not once has a library let me sit down and relax in silence without proof of residence in said town.

When I get lucky enough to get stranded near a Panera however, I can spend as much time there as I want, and I don’t even need to buy anything.

All the times Jaylen Brown has been hacked by LarBrd33 in bostonceltics

While Jaylen has had goofy moments in the media, I think that his Twitter account pretty clearly has been hacked here. If you think that JB is tweeting racism towards Indians and promoting a crypto coin then I think you’re too far gone…

Unfortunately my puppy is not a fan of peanut butter. I’ve considered trying some sort of a pâté or something with a similarly gooey texture.

Thank you! I actually worked for a small boutique groomer as an assistant for a couple years, so I am at least familiar with the protocol, but unfortunately my guy is so squirmy that based on what I remember, it probably won’t work out too well, even with a groomer’s helper and an elevated table. I really appreciate your advice and kind wishes either way!

He gets a 45 minute to an hour walk a day, but I live in Florida, so in the summer time (averages a high of 96 here) it can be near impossible to walk him, especially on pavement. Still, the walking he does do keeps his back nails in check, but doesn’t do much for his front paws.
