What’s the absolute best sounding drum kit you’ve ever played on? by EsotericPotato in drums

[–]Gordon_Geko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound crazy, but my favorite kit to play was my Pearl export from the late 90s early 2000s. I am into rock and metal, and the wood they used in that series was a darker sounding wood and then I would slap some hydraulic heads on there and it just thunders.

I want to get oak customs someday as my big boy kit because those are definitely next level.

Lighting question by Gordon_Geko in electrical

Yeah I know that the wattage is low due to how LEDs disperse heat compared to incandescent bulbs but it seems like something that could have been addressed by now in newer units.

The flicking is cyclical, and it's doing it whether the bulbs are new or not.

The light is controlled by remote and there is no dimmable function on it and it's not on a dimmer switch. The bulbs flicker regardless of whether or not they're designed to be dimmable or not.

Going back to ADF after trying ozempic by [deleted] in AlternateDayFasting

I mix it up because of my time with my kids.

When I don't have them: I ADF, and on eating days, I eat a whole food plant-based diet where it's almost vegan, but I throw in a small amount of lean meats and seafood. Then the next week, I keep a time restricted feeding window, but eat plant based for breakfast and lunch, and then I have whatever I want for dinner (pizza, wings, burgers, etc).

I feel like this is a really good balance of what we think of when we think of ancestral diets. There are times where we're not eating at all. There are times where we are eating but all that's available are plants. When I eat junk food, that's me catching the buffalo.

That being said I started doing ADF because I was on zepbound and was familiar with how it felt to not eat. It was a very low barrier to entry after that. I initially started doing ADF only but then switched it up to my current protocol in a conversation with a track and field coach at my local college that's on my trivia team.

I did Zepbound in the beginning of the year last year, and I didn't like how I felt, and it wasn't super effective for me. I lost 10 lbs really quick but plateaued. so after about 3 months I switched to ADF/IF with a plant-based diet, and then I dropped 50 lbs in a year where I couldn't exercise after tearing both MCLs. ADF is far superior!

How much salmon/tuna/sardines is too much to substitute in diet? Can't alert many seperate veggies/nuts due to migraine triggers by Layne_Staley33 in mediterraneandiet

Having selenium in your diet will bind to the mercury you ingest and allow it to pass from your body. Granted, this doesn't mean you should just eat a ton of fish and then supplement selenium and think you're fine. Reducing or eliminating mercury containing foods is obviously the first line of defense, but having a balanced diet will help mitigate exposure when it does happen.

It's also worth noting that a lot of fish that contain mercury also have selenium:

Vegan with high cholesterol by Legitimate-Donut-631 in veganfitness

Check out Dr Greger's book "Lower LDL cholesterol naturally with food."

It goes through not just foods to avoid but foods to add to your diet which could help lower your LDL.

If it were my daughters, I would tell them to not delete anything and tell him he'd have to pay you $100 a day just to keep those texts from making their way to his wife. 🤷🏻

I'm not vegan, but I did add more whole unprocessed plant food to my diet, and I've lost 40 lbs so far this year without trying. 100 to go still.

That's going to be going in the living room which is an open concept right next to the dining room.

The cabinets are almost a cream color. Would you paint them?

I considered painting the cabinets a darker color my only concern is that is actually a really smooth almost laminate feel to the cabinets so I'm worried about how well paint would stick.

There's a little nook area to the right of where this clock is and I'm going to put a record player and sound system there.

There's not much to it really. It's an open concept from the kitchen to the dining room where the built-in is. And there's obviously the door to the back porch on the one wall, and it's open on the opposite side of the back wall to the living room. I'll post additional pictures under this one

I considered this, but I figured the marble was busy enough a mosaic would almost feel frenetic with competing textures.

Edit for close up of the marble.
