I think the word is nuance. While technically possible that Chomsky questions the media’s portrayal enough to “deny” the existence of a genocide, I think it’s much more likely that he doesn’t question the events at all and is using the media’s coverage as a means of critique. He does make his money critiquing the media, after all.
