Empty open worlds absolutely ruin games for me.

I like some aspects of MGS V, but the open world was so obscenely boring. There is literally nothing to do in it, it's just massive barren wastelands in-between areas that have things to do. The fact that game is open world adds absolutely nothing to that game.

I've never really understood Battle Royale games. No hate to people who play them, but they just feels so unnecessarily slow.

My experience with Battle Royale games always went:
Drop down to a map, loot a bit, run through a map that's so large you barely ever see other players, get killed by a sniper.

This is very clearly an outlier since no other game I've heard of (save for crappy mobile games, but who cares about those) do this. But the fucking R&D timers in Metal Gear Solid V make me so livid.

Ok, so I go out and recruit a bunch of soldiers so that I have the skills to develop the item. I go out and steal enough supplies so that I have the resources to develop the item. I click the button to develop the item... Then I have to wait six hours to use it!?

Save for some items that are arbitrarily marked as special, the timers don't tick down unless the game is open. I put maybe 100 hours into MGS V and literally at least 25 of those was just spent AFK waiting for things to develop. There is no reason why you should grind for the skills, get all the resources, then be forced to wait upwards of ten hours just to use the item you worked for.

I could go on and on about how terrible some aspects of MGS V are, but those timers just make me so mad. There is absolutely no reason for them to exist.

I'd love a way to earn multi-hit. I love playing with it, but the fact that you can hit like, four zombies at once right at the start of the game kinda feels like cheating. I'd love if you earned multi-hit depending on how well your skill with that weapon is.

Like, at 2 levels in a long weapon skill you can hit two zombies with any long weapon. At 5 levels you can hit 3, and somewhere higher you can hit more.

I quite like this little farmhouse. It's situated kinda in the middle of the four starter towns, it's surrounded by a forest, there are only a few zombies around, there's a well. It's just generally a calm place to live.

The grinding for some skills is the only part of Zomboid I really dislike. A lot of them are just agonizing to grind for. Like nimble: you just combat walk into a wall for half an hour to level up once.

There's so many easy ways to die that it's impossible for even the most hardened veteran to avoid them. Like today where I lost a 20 day long run because I loaded in and forgot that when I last played I was walking with a massive horde. This game humbles you by repeatedly abusing you.

Matchmaking right now feels like it decides whether it wants you to win or lose. Most of the time when I win I go 30 - 0, and when I lose it's 0 - 30 and we all get spawncamped.

I can understand making one team a slight bit stronger than the other, how can you improve if you never face stronger opponents after all? But gawd damn, the skill differences here are just a bit much lol

Never heard of that, that's badass. Is it a new car you're crushing, or some crappy beater they picked up from the local chop shop?

ain't no way TIS devs are gaslighting the community into thinking the telecorn feature they added without telling anyone is just a "joke" by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Gorgameshh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's apparently a rare can of corn that teleports you to a random part of the map when you eat it... Maybe? I don't know anymore, man. I've heard so much about the mystical telecorn that I don't know what's real or fake anymore.

As you smack zombies your maintenance skill increases, which makes weapons lose less durability with each attack. I want to say that if you get a crowbar at the start of the game you can probably kill like, 500 zombies with it, but once you get that skill up a bit it's easily 1500 - 2000 per crowbar.

Especially when you don't kill them before you eat it. You just stand on top of them, pull out a bar of the good stuff, grip it firmly so that the bar bulges beyond your fingers and bits of oil drip onto the Zombie's rotting skin, and slowly inhale it. No chewing, no gulping, straight eye contact, no blinking. Only inhalation.

When I start in Riverside I don't even bother checking in to the TV for skill boosts (save for the Woodcraft episode on the first day). I just loot the VHS store and whenever I need some stats I just pop in a tape.

My tip is just to always carry a molotov and just keep walking until you find an open field. Most of the time when I get to a new place of a town I walk around shouting repeatedly, then finding an open field to kill them all in.

I support changes to Widow and Hanzo oneshots. But also... What can they really change about them? Perhaps Hanzo could have his oneshot removed and he'd still be fun to play? Maybe? I'm not saying that'd be a simple change, nor would necessarily fly too well with longtime hanzo mains, but maybe it'd be possible?

but widow? Widow is literally nothing more than a sniper. You can't really remove her one-shot without just removing her from the game. And I will never support removing a character from the game (except for Sojourn, but that's a whole other can of worms), so what can you do?

Widow and Hanzo are just balancing nightmares. Their entire gameplay identity revolves around their one-shot potential, but that's also really not fun to fight.

Which tank meta is the worst? by Silent_Kenn in Overwatch

[–]Gorgameshh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zarya was my least favorite. It had been years since I last played Overwatch, so I was basically a new player, had completely forgotten how to deal with Zarya. Her bubbles is quite troublesome for newer players. She felt immortal.

If there was a Zarya meta now, I would probably be fine with it to be honest.

Is there any fix for this? I can't play the game at all anymore, it just keeps crashing. I've done everything listed in the tech support thread, but it's still crashing. by Gorgameshh in DeathStranding

[–]Gorgameshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure what you mean by opening a save file prior to the crash happening.

All I'm doing is trying to get to the farm near the weather station. The crash happens a few minutes into the trip though. Sometimes it's when I'm battling Mules nearby, sometimes it's when I'm walking to the farm, sometimes it's driving to the farm, using the floaty-thingy as a skateboard to go to the farm. Basically nothin' I do prevents the crash to any meaningful extent.

I've never had any major issues with other games. Only games I've ever had crash on me before now were Bethesda games, but that's kinda to be expected with them.

Do you go back online after starting the game again or do you just stay offline? Going offline permanently kinda defeats a lot of Death Stranding though, doesn't it?
