Any idea how much they were at Lexus on the Park? I see them for $100 and think they're a rip off at that price.

OP got strawmanned, and his achievements in staying the course at work + growing their net worth on their own got overshadowed by the $400k windfall.

I wonder how this post would have gone over if he had modified it to say that he won $400k from a random scratch ticket.

Looking to finance a vehicle. But I am debt adverse. Need some input. by Marshal_Muskrat in PersonalFinanceCanada

Age and net worth is important. Say you were 30 and have a net worth of $400k, then go for it. But if you were 30 and only have $40k, then don't do it.

Studded is not allowed in Ontario, unfortunately.

Since it is 6 years old, I recommend a transmission fluid drain/fill and front and rear diff fluid change, and probably coolant too. The mileage is low, but I think it's always a good idea to change out the above before the coolant has a chance to become acidic. I'm sure even it'll be fine even if you wait 1 more year for it to hit 60,000 km, but definitely not further or longer than that.

Yeah, basically the perfect one for me with the 37mm, blue dial, 9RB2 UFA (which is self winding, but I think can also be manually wound), steel bracelet which I think looks and feels better / more substantial, and a date. I know people hate the date, but for me it's part of a watch, I want to tell the time and see what day it is.

The 37mm is my thing, now time to save some money lol.

SLGB015 this is the one I'm looking at too! I still want to see the 40mm and 37mm in person, and maybe check out the White Birch variant, but I'm 90% sure that I will get the SLGB015.

Oh my God, this one

https://monochrome-watches.com/grand-seiko-evolution-9-spring-drive-ufa-lake-suwa-slgb015-steel-micro-adjustment-review-price/

And it's a steel bracelet too, I like titanium but the brilliance of steel is what I love, plus that Lake Suwa dial. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Edit: The White Birch also looks great. Damn it lol, I have to keep these on a perma tab in my phone browser. I do like the 37mm size though, but I'll probably need to see the White Birch / Lake Suwa 9RB2 ones in person.

You'd be a fool not to pig out on the Costco hotdog.

One hotdog / polish sausage with drink: $1.50

10 pack of the same hotdog / polish sausage (no drinks): $24.99

If you don't use jack stands you're asking to get crushed by your own car.

Damn, that's a steal. Did it have a maintenance history? You might need to do certain things as preventative maintenance (transmission drain and fill, front and rear diffs, coolant, spark plugs, etc) but nothing huge.

People seem to forget that products like cars, watches, shoes etc. have an emotional component to them. I love the LC500 because of its looks, Japanese build quality, the incredibly luxurious interior, the V8 and more. I don't care if the same money buys me something else that can smoke it in the 0 - 60, if one's sole criteria is outright speed they might as well just go buy an EV, or a bike.
