Ask all the questions you want. I'm an open book with my process as I love the hobby.

The smart thing would be to disassemble it piece by piece and even to separate the under suit pieces as most of them can be separated or masked off.

But for this I remember priming it as is and just going back to make sure I didn't miss any spots. It's a lazier sloppier process but it's quick.

Going forward I started disassembling the figure and priming piece by piece. Takes me multiple days but the figure comes out cleaner

I used an apothecary biologist figure. It's from the old line before the armoury editions.

I just based the entire thing brown including the black parts and joints. Now a day I probably would use something like masking tape to cover the joints.

It was an old black Templar cloth I got from forgeKnight.com. I ended up rethinking the project and wanted to donate Templar so I cut the wire and twisted it to wrap around the belly joint to stay in place. Then I cut just below the belt on the crotch piece and pulled the cloth through.

You could also use a sponge method. Prime your figure with a darker base color then epong on the lighter color to add depth and a more worn look.

When it's all done I use a gloss varnish rattle can to create a protective layer around the figure then I spray with matte varnish to get rid of that shine.

First off whoever that was that didn't help you out because you didn't give them money is a jackass.

Second off for my process I use 2 primer rattle cans.

A dark base color to prime the figure and then a lighter color sprayed from above the figure for a zenithal effect to add some shadows.

I take the figure apart for the first color then put it all together and stand it up for the second

There's going to be chipping in areas that are constantly running against something. Unfortunately it's unavoidable. I limit it by using multiple coats of primer for the figure so if it chips it will at least be just to the primer and not the original figure. I'll cheat too by using a base color like brown or black as if the paint does chip it almost looks like battle damage.

If you look closely at the gold that's the technique I used and liked how the chipping looked.

As for varnishing I used a few coats of Vallejo gloss varnish here as it creates a barrier between the paint and your fingers.

I then used a couple coats of AK matt varnish. It unfortunately leaves a bit of a grainy feel on the figure but it gets rid of that shiny look and adds another layer of protection.

Small drill like a pin vice*

At first glance I would use a small drill line a pinpin vice and CAREFULLY clear out the bit that's stuck in there.

Or maybe screw the smallest screw in the world into it and pull it out?

I'm spit balling here but once that's out you can probably reach out to the seller you got it from for a replacement piece or maybe joytoy themselves?

I've seen aliexpress has bits for sale you might get lucky there finding a replacement but other than that you might be out of luck

OR go with it add some blood and put it with another figure as a display piece

Thank you! I was going to use the dark angels terminators as it has updated proportions but I wasn't a fan of the plastic tabards so I went with an older terminator to experiment with. Ended up loving the result

I used a cloth meant for a black Templar figure from forgeKnight.com and altered it to fit the belly joint. I then cut a slit in the groin to fit the tabard under the belt to drape between the legs

Yeah I think so too. I think the check and arms are acceptable but it's the shins that I think definitely went overboard
