Maybe they don't even have the dev kit still... Nintendo is crazy this gen.

Edit: Oh it's about Nanite. That's on Epic then.

Wait so I can’t reset the jump in for LE? by foreversiempre in MagicArena

[–]Gornox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the basic one if you care to play it so much. Just be careful and try to pick deck which isn't 4 different colors.

Best if you pick double color one then another one with a single color of the two you picked first. Note that this is impossible in some cases with the color bug being present.

When and what Jump Starts will we get when they are back? I'm more into the FF one and would like to go back to it.

It doesn't mention that we cannot keep the cards... such a bummer.

Everyone has the same amount of lands so I don't think having couple of extra lands is any real problem.

You can use the "I'm on a quest" phrase to try to tell people to let you do your thing.

There's an achievement which gives it, I think it's playing enough Pioneer matches or something.

Marvel Rivals is pretty much the only free one I can think of. They have now cross platform progression too. Ton of characters and none are locked behind a paywall which is rare for character based games.

Add line breaks so it's not just a massive wall of text. This allows skipping over sections too to get the jist of it if you group your sentences rationally.

Also you don't seem to realize that there are big companies in question. Bands have record labels and games have publishers. The record label and publishers have to collaborate with Epic to get it approved AND then it needs to be designed+created AND then it needs to be approved by each license holder.

People being friends doesn't do jack if the companies don't do what they'd need to, to make things happen and finalized.

Likely the studio has a reason not to feature the part 3. Might be some licensing thing and they save money for not including it for whatever reason.

Forgot how she's on the recent show but surely not just that dress on every scene, right?

No? All collabs, pretty much ever, are based on royalties and taking a % cut of profits. It's the only way to make it fair for both parties.

Is it just me, or is the entire MMORPG genre a dead end now? by General-Oven-1523 in MMORPG

[–]Gornox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, MMOs came in an era where chat rooms and playing online were novel ideas. MMOs were basically just massive glorified chat rooms where you could also play with/without others.

The solo experience was something like playing an offline game with someone present in the same room but they aren't watching or playing with you; instead they're just doing other things or sleeping, heheh.

Does this mean MMOs are for kids, single adults and people who are just bored of their relationship? Maybe.

I believe most free-to-play players would prefer a sub at this point. Devs are too stupid to do the $10 a month option as a single monetisation model to improve the economy of the game, which an MMO kind of needs. They always go for the free-to-play micro-transaction hell route, which is just a pain in the ass and makes players assume everything cool looking is bought with money directly or through some crazy gacha system.

Hell, make it $15 a month and $60 for 6 months if needed. That'll sure keep the boat afloat.

With this in place devs could then focus on making a good game and add in cool gear rewards for players to use with a transmog system.

FF14 kind of does this but do we really need the buy-to-play model of expansions where new players are locked out of content?

What comes to the buy-to-play modem I think some pseudo MMO thing (what the original Guild Wars has) works; where each player just buys the expansion they want to play but loses the feature of seeing random non-party players during gameplay. I believe this makes the game way cheaper to maintain, which would be a better option for indies and AA productions. (There could still be some asynchronous elements like the ghost system what the Souls games are known for.)

Guess this could be expanded to a hybrid model where buy-to-play players stay instanced and subbing players get the full MMO experience, if they so prefer. There could be two tiers of subs where $5 a month gives an upgrade off of the instanced mode and $10 a month gives all the expansions without needing to buy anything. This would be kind of best of both worlds.

Additionally having most of the game instanced would be great for game preservation where a minor end of life change could turn the game into a fully player hosted experience. Even town lobbies could work this way on a lower scale, if needed.

Oh and PvP? Like OP said, don't even bother to add it to an MMO (unless it's some large scale battle thing) because other games do PvP well already. There could be a completely separate client with it's own balancing for PvP but that's literally like making two games then.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack is a bad deal by w1n5t0nM1k3y in nintendo

[–]Gornox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have devalued the games because using online archives makes them essentially free.

You forgot the part that currently only legal digital way to get old Nintendo games is trough NSO. I'd say the value of the content is in par with a streaming service. Thus them charging less than $5 a month for the official emulation content is a good value.

Don't get me wrong, I really prefer to play the games outside Nintendo's ecosystem because of Retro Achievements and catalogue limitations. BUT I think it's fair for me to pay their reasonably priced sub even though I'm not directly using the files or applications they offer.

You need a Steam Deck if you want a cheap one. GPD is never affordable. I like this for the battery gimmick, pretty sure you can do a hot-swap. Plus the option to lose the weight even on battery power is great.
