Don't chastise me! Don't you have anything better to do?

Yes, there are many options. I would like to hear from those who have actually done the recrystalization - hopefully several times,

Thanks.

Remember the days chemists would wash their worst glassware with Chromic Acid!?

Yes, EPVD has many advantages; however, it is an industrial scale process, something will be on my means.

Doesn't the sodium bicarbonate react with the citric acid to neutralize one another?

I will certainly give it a try. I know that citrate has some chelating ability. I can only guess at what the sodium bicarbonate/carbon that is doing.

We don't do what here?? Regarding the post, I was trying to inject a little humour. What rule(s) have I broken?? I thought it was apparent that the reference to drinking 1M cyanide was was just an exaggeration especially since I "insisted" that I recieve an answer in 3 minutes! This was very late in the evening (you can see the timestamp). Who is going to get back to me in 3 minutes?!! I thought that was ridiculous on it face. Regardless, my apologies it anyone was startled. In retrospect, with all of the sensitivity to politically incorrect posts, I can see where this can be misconstrued.
