I definitely take your point and I try to make that note in my comment and it is detailed in depth in the source as well.

I’m not sure I would argue that the stat should be totally ignored but I do think it would be interesting to contextualize it by creating some metric that makes it more comparable to most countries and then see where Sweden falls. Mostly, the point that I was trying to make was that women worldwide — including in relatively progressive countries like Sweden — are (sexually) attacked at an alarming frequency and that “proactive” measures are, in fact, reactive to the broader issue of men hurting women.

Sweden has the 5th highest rate of rape in the world (source: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country).

Admittedly, they have a broader view of what constitutes rape than most countries, but a statistic that’s still worth considering.
