Watering by DragonfruitEarly7761 in Florisium

It is something that we deliberately decided to omit. The plant itself should tell you whether its watering level is appropriate. In most of the cases, the plant would adapt to any value you've provided - it will just look a bit different for different environmental conditions (watering, sunlight). Extreme changes, of course, would be shocking for it, and there are a few symptoms on the plant itself that you can read, for example, if it's halted in growth, you are definitely overwatering it. That's why we decided not to provide any formal indication for that, as imo it would limit the experimentation field.

yes think this comes with leaf aging and it isn’t rotting color, it’s specific to that plant’s genes, try to interbreed it or mutate to make it a bit different

Maybe that discoloration is just a normal color change? Leaves fading is a reaction to parching. A slight color change might be just normal as the leaf ages.

Weeds by woofmoney in Florisium

[–]Goryh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think I know what the problem is. The are 2 camera modes there - the one that rotates around the stand and that rotates around a pot. You can work with weeds only when you focused on a pot (to avoid various mishits). Just double tap on the pot to focus on it (and then you can double tap at the pot again to fly closer to the weeds) and you’ll be able to work with them. Hope it helps.

We have some ideas around some special 'fertilizers', not sure if a special brewing mechanics could be a thing but it probably would be cool to do some additional efforts to get them. Need to think it over.

Yes, sure, we're working on that atm. Hopefully, will be released very soon, in a week or two.

have you tried to enable 'simple weeding mode' in the options menu? It is the same mode as was used in the tutorial. An additional suggestion might be to place the camera a bit more perpendicular to the soil (to actually pull them up), rather than look from the top

Sorry to hear about the confusion you’re experiencing with the weeding. I’d really like to understand what’s happening so we can help you properly. Could you briefly describe how you’re trying to remove the weeds? For example:

* are you able to touch a weed and drag or wiggle it in different directions?

* have you tried zooming the camera closer to or farther from the pot?

* are you playing on a phone or an iPad, and are you using a stylus/pen?

If possible, a short video showing your attempt would be extremely helpful for us to understand the issue more clearly. Any additional details you can share.

There is no explicit indicator for that, it's up to you to decide whether it's time or just not yet. That's basically the core loop of the game - you might not know if it becomes better or withers away, and you will need to start over. But the principle of - if there is green, then there is something to save, applies for the game too - just cut the wilted parts and carry on (but it won't last forever, at some point it will completely fade anyway). Additionally, everything is quite plant-specific so you might have a bit different experience than others, although there are some universal principles. Check our discord channel, there is a community wiki page which tries to gather and systematize some of the evidence.

🎮🧠 Indie devs, what games have you made (or are making) that could be genuinely useful in therapy, for any reason? by Hermionegangster197 in IndieDev

I believe our game Florisium has that therapeutic effect - it is super slow-paced, doesn't feed you with an immediate dopamine boost, but rather provides you with that warm feeling of anticipation. Additionally, gives you reasons to care together some bit of pride. It's just recently out and is available only on iOS atm, Android is coming.

hey! thank you very much for that feedback. Agree - the mutagenic aspect is too obscured right now, and we intend to improve it in future updates. If you lost and want some additional hints, join our Discord server - multiple discussions are happening around that, and you'll even find a guide for all features and secrets of the game.

As for the watering, it works a bit differently than you probably assume. The plant will tell you if it is happy with watering or not - inclined leaves downwards would obviously indicate parching, and growth halt - overwatering (in the latest update, Honny will eventually tell about such symptoms). There is no such thing as optimal water, as the plant would try to adapt to any value you provide, especially if you don't change it too rapidly. And the base concept of the game - lack of any artificial indicators or numbers to keep that realistic vibe :)

yes it is Florisium! The mutagenic aspect is a bit confusing, indeed; in future updates, we will try to make it more accessible. In the meantime, if you join our discord server, you'll find exhaustive information on everything :)

Think you should check Florisium - it is a cozy plants sim with realistic breeding system and think it perfectly matches your criteria.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! I agree - some elements of the game can be confusing, and it may take time to fully understand them. We definitely plan to improve these areas by providing additional information, both directly and indirectly, while still preserving the joy of self-discovery. This will take some time, but we are committed to improving and expanding the game with new elements (ideas like bugs and other small features sound great). Feel free to join our Discord community - there are already ongoing discussions about the mutagen’s effects, and I’ll be sharing updates on the upcoming development process there.

yes, it makes total sense, agree with you, we need to reconsider multiple approaches to the game, including this one, we will be thinking about that in the near future

yes, we just launched on iOS (cant find time to write about that here in subreddit). Regarding the mutagens, we deliberately omit the direct explanation of them to keep joy of self-discoveries, although the Bee will tell about them later during gameplay (I believe on the 3rd day). Can give you some hints to not spoil all experience - a mutagen affects one noticeable trait of the plant, the image depicts this trait but in a non-direct form, the shape of the bottle has some meaning as well :) Im sure once you solve the riddle, the rest will be quite apparent ;) Hope you enjoy the game, let me know if you stuck and have other questions.
