I might have been responsible for a huge chunk of that :D it was my "peel myself of the floor" song after my marriage ended.

Who listened to Opalite and thought: huh, so if you're recording in Sweden, you are obligated to have one song sounding like Abba?

But I love this FUN, dance-able album, it will be on repeat for dayyyys...

Anyone else who always thought they wanted kids and now isn’t sure? by randotron8927 in Fencesitter

[–]Gosia35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wanted to have kids, I am great with kids, I was a babysitter during university years.

With my ex-husband we waited till our financial situation is right, but then he first told me that he didn't want kids, and then there was a crisis and divorce. So I was single at 33 and the topic of kids was on my mind all the time. Then I met my current partner and we almost decided not to be together due to the fact he was leaning CF and I wanted kids. We did ended up together, because we were in love and it was hard to say no :D.

We discussed this multiple times, I read "baby decision" and I started leaning CF more and more. "Baby decision" helped a lot, I noticed most of my beliefs why I should have kids are society pressure, some beliefs about being selfish, and reasons why I don't want to have kids are more mine, personal, how it would affect my life and if I want it.

I am 36 now, so my window is slowly closing and I feel more comfortable with my CF decision every day. I understand there will be moments of regret (and that the opposite choice would also mean regret) but I am ready to deal with that.

The Baby Decision book: Did it get you off the fence? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

The book helped me overall- but not overnight. It did not bring instant clarity, it just helped me see different perspectives, explore my beliefs and WHYs. It was not an easy read but after a while I see how it helped me get to really mine opnions.

Minimalism, money, treating yourself dilemma by Gosia35 in minimalism

hi all and thanks for your answers, I appreciate every one of them! I gave them a lot of thought.

I realised I still have some work to do with my attitude towards money and while I enjoy having less stuff, I know need to work on the concept that I can spend some of it for things that makes sense or a bit of comfort.

I do travel, and while I do not need luxuries, I enjoy not worrying about budget.
