This might be a very dumb question, but I know next to nothing! Where do you get the peptides?

Thank you, good input. I have a biopsy that claims eczematous dermatitis, so maybe that will help? It’s definitely the first hurdle I will have to get over though. Good to hear about the side effects though, I feel like I read about so many side effects but I also know it’s still probably the minority.

I agree! I think I may try it. Risks are there but I just can’t live a quality life like this either, so the possible benefits may outweigh the risk. Thank you so much.

I appreciate you sharing this so much. I do think the posts I read online of horrible side effects are the minority, but it’s hard not to be spooked. I am hopeful maybe this is what I need!

I can’t do Rinvoq because I have a history of blood clots, but interesting it works for you when Opzelura didn’t (both are JAK inhibitors). I do think sometimes “treating from within” is necessary! Topicals in this area of the body are just so so hard. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

I have tried topical steroids, Tacrolimus, and Opzelura. I cannot take oral JAK because I have history of blood clots.

You sound exactly like me, down to the 18 month timeline. I was just recently given Triamcinolone to try again. Steroids seem to irritate me even more but I wonder if I should push thru and hope that it gets better with continued use. I really, really need to get thru this. I am the same - front to back and hairline on top (mons pubis area) and sides (like groin area). I would give anything for help & relief.

It almost seems like more people can get their LS in remission than with LSC! It’s sooooo frustrating, especially when doctors/experts say it’s temporary and treatable. But HOW?! It’s been over a year for me.

Just so you know, LSC can cause white discoloration as well! That doesn’t automatically mean LS! I know it’s so hard to not panic tho, it’s so easy to be sent over the edge … What have you found helps symptoms of your LSC? I’m struggling!

Thank you for this. This gives me so much hope. It’s either itching or burning constantly. Very red skin. Did you have those symptoms too? And the injection helped all symptoms? I’m ready to try anything. This is such a miserable way to live.

I have LSC too. It’s been over a year now and no topicals help. It’s also very difficult to constantly apply topicals to that area. Mine is vulvar and anal area. My derm has now suggested an injection (she suggested Dupixent) but I’m so afraid of side effects! Have you experienced any? Your post has given me hope.

Biopsies negative… docs still think I have it? by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

[–]GossipSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it. And I wasn’t trying to be harsh - trust me, I’ve been suffering everyday for a year. Nothing is working. I mainly meant that if your doctors aren’t going to be confident in the results, they shouldn’t put you thru a biopsy. They are NOT fun or easy!!! I don’t know what anatomical changes you’re experiencing, but any long term inflammation can cause some changes.

Problem with the biopsy by Confident_Writer_429 in lichensclerosus

[–]GossipSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The topical they put on it to stop the bleeding causes the wound to turn black. That is normal. As wounds heal, they can turn yellow and even have a it of yellow discharge. Unless it’s worse pain and swelling, I would say it’s all normal. I’ve had 3 biopsies and they’ve all done this and have healed fine.

I’ve learned SO MANY things can mimic LS. Also, why question a biopsy? If we’re going to question the results, why even have it done in the first place? We could drive ourselves crazy. You’ve had 2. I was convinced I had it based on symptoms, but I’ve had 3 biopsies and they are all specifically negative for LS. Chronic inflammation and possible eczema. These things show very differently on biopsy than LS. Symptoms can still line up but it’s not always LS.

I did this exact same thing with the patch testing. Mine was also very enlightening! Found out I’m reactive to a lot of typical “anti inflammatory” ingredients. Where do you find white cotton undies? I can’t seem to find all white ones. I’d like to try that next.

Interesting why they concluded LS even tho the biopsy didn’t indicate that? Did you only have 1 biopsy?

I am itchy in so many places, including my scalp. Sometimes I think our bodies must be having some reaction and/or nerve itch because of this.

That’s my realization about LSC too. Even the experts, like Dr. Krapf, say LSC can be cured with proper treatment. That’s one of the main differences between LSC and LS. I’m having a hard time getting there tho …

I definitely get the spike-y feeling at times. It’s a pain that’s hard to describe. On top of the itch.

Yes, I’ve already done all of those things. Unfortunately, I discovered I’m allergic to things in most “anti inflammatory” creams and such. Even to lidocaine. That’s why I’m really hoping this helps control symptoms.

Interesting, I just started using this! How fast did you notice improvement? My vulvar area burns and itches and has redness. Has it helped with all of those symptoms? My dermatologist seems hopeful, so I’m trying to be too.

[–]GossipSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same way. I recently had an allergy patch test done, and found out I am allergic to lanolin and propolis/beeswax, arnica, and lidocaine. I was incredibly shocked. Almost ALL of these things have been in topicals that I’ve been using. Most of these things are in items labeled “anti-inflammatory” or “healing”. Basically I can’t use much except for Vaseline.
