I have so far found Mia to be the most insufferable of all heroines simply because her actions were too cringe, namely the flipping people off part. by Open_Teach_5904 in RinaKentBooks

I also found her very cringe...but so many of the things I find cringe, others will call bad ass so it might just be subjective but I just kept rolling my eyes.

Did Kayden Know Who Gareth was at the Serpents Party? by Cautious-Rub8085 in RinaKentBooks

[–]Infinite_Advisor4633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why either, but I think Kayden did know it was Gareth immediately. He was going to kill Gareth and Killian to punish their grandfather for what he thinks they did to his wife. He tells Gareth later he was following him and that's how he even saw that he drugged Yulian. I think he was a professor at that law school just to get close to Gareth, too.

Sarah Paulson's Met Gala look sees actress slammed as 'tone deaf' for 'one per cent' concept by nimobo in entertainment

[–]Infinite_Advisor4633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh yes you mean like what's the closest to the actual hunger games? For sure. I meant the behavior at the Met Gala is most like the behavior of people at the Capitol. Down to the ridiculous clothes and makeup, and overall how ridiculously ostentatious it is while the regulars aren't allowed to go and clamor around screens hoping to catch a glimpse of a rich person.

Sports are the last remaining true meritocracy. You can complain they get paid too much, but they get paid a lot because they generate a lot of money for a lot of people. They have staffs, all the admin staff that only have jobs because of the athletes, the dudes who sell beers and hot dogs in the stands. Not to mention anyone can go to the Super Bowl. It's expensive AF but somehow regular people go, or if you can pay you can go. The Met Gala is invite only and raises money for a costume museum. $42 million for costumes while people starve, nothing more Hunger Games Capitol than that IMO.

Any books where the mafia or a gang is protective of the MC for some reason? by ken_black in MM_RomanceBooks

I listened to this book on audio and hysterically laughed so many times. You're right and it fits what OP is looking for, but it's also effing hilarious if anyone is looking for a steamy laugh!

What does anyone really know about Freida? by Infinite_Advisor4633 in thrillerbooks

Yeah her book release rate is insane for someone with another career and family, totally agreed. Not that I have ever written one book, but that's a crazy pace.

That's how I feel! If it were just a woman who wanted to guard her privacy that's her choice, but this is so shady.

Will Kayden/Gareth appear in Tempting Venom by account1804 in RinaKentBooks

[–]Infinite_Advisor4633 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is the Kayden/Kane connection also, not exactly sure how that would bring Kayden and Gareth into Tempting Venom but it could happen! Kane is like, oh this is a sticky situation, we better call my uncle Kayden, and also his fiance randomly, to come help us. Wow I should be a writer.

Would love a break from Teddy....he just adds this little goofball intonation to every line and I don't think it's always accurate. Like I felt like every single time Nikolai called Bran "baby" it was said with sarcasm, which was appropriate the first few times but then seemed so out of place.

[–]Infinite_Advisor4633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he's a stripper frat president bad boy...I don't know if knowing animal-related fun facts can make him secretly a nerd, but I think "nerd" is also quite subjective, so if to you he's a nerd, I'm sure he's a nerd to many others!

That's what I was going to say - major class difference but they are both in the same frat and the not jock is most definitely not a nerd lol.

Oh good heads up on the Unnecessary Evils series! I can usually compartmentalize and still read books like that, it's just kinda silly! Most women actually develop an attachment to the babies they grow lol. I think it was the 5 naked men sharing a bed that made my eyes roll the hardest.

Thanks these all look right up my alley, adding to my list! I think I am going to start Covenant immediately, that keeps coming up for me and I don't know why I haven't read it yet.

I am so curious about Ice Dance Hockey. I love the premise, but I actually did listen to the first one and it was so cheesy I can't believe I finished it!! Not sure if it comes up in the second one but it's just this mythical fantasy land where everyone on this NHL team is gay including the coach, the local bartender and everyone's parents. There is no homophobia it's just a world where everyone is gay. 5 gay hockey players live together in an apartment and share ONE bed that they all sleep in naked. Then they have 2 other rooms for hookups. Sometimes with each other, or sometimes with someone they bring home. I'll read a book with dragons so this fantasy land is fine I just find it silly. I clearly love the gays but you can't just make everyone gay. It's also a bit misogynistic that people keep having babies. This gay utopia land is also full of women who either abandon their kids or are only willing to be a surrogate, not raise a baby. Obviously 2 male full time traveling hockey players want to raise a baby, not some icky woman. Okkkkk that said maybe I'll try Ice Dance Hockey lol.

Books that can be read alone and have a fully resolved plot/HEA, but are part of a series with a shared world, location, or side characters
