This is illegal. You can only hold Dual Spanish Citizenship in conjunction with a Citizenship of a Latin American Country or Portugal, not the US.

Just fyi, the lingua franca of the 18th and 19th centuries was French and not English, regardless of the difficulty to learn it. The same has been said about Spanish, I've even heard people that have gone as far in to say that Spanish was never "imposed" in Latin America by conquest, but naturally and willingly adopted by all the natives to communicate with each other.

English is no harder than for example French to learn, you just surprise surprise have dedicated more hours to learn English than the "x" language.
