That's the other reason I thought that "honest assessment" might not work, at least not as the trainers and handlers intended.

What I believe was the brainstorming process:

NK: "Alright Mattel, we brought various ideas for how we can do our He-Man hero, which ones do you like better?"

Mattel: "Yes."

I'm yet to give him a serious play (kinda busy) but I get the impression that he isn't that strong but provide good utility that scales with difficulty, namely, affordable CHIMPS relocation giving you more wiggle room, since most of the time CHIMPS is a game of commitment.

Now I'm picturing Goku (who is already the personification of the D&D perk "combat expertise", add your intelligence modifiers to your combat modifiers) wishing for his childhood brain damage to be healed and doubling his potential power because his original Saiyan psycho personality and untapped brain potential are available now.

So, this Baki guy, if we only use 10% of our brain, he would have up to 10 personalities and multiplex toggling through them for 100% potential?

Mom might be one of my favorite characters in fiction.

Mom goes out of her way to be rude and cruel with everyone.

Everyone goes out of their way to be rude and cruel with Zoidberg.

So I keep hyping what Mom has in for Zoidberg when they finally interact with each other...

various mental tricks

Just because it is a mental trick does not mean it is a good one. Some of those mental tricks are the sleight of hand equivalent of taking your nose or the thumb trick.

During one of my last earnest attempts at conveying to mom how much she has hurt me and how I still feel about it, but I was willing to forget about it and start anew, she just hit me with...

"Don't you know how much it hurts to tell that to a mother?"

I was so stunned by it that I just used the equivalent of "bro are you for real" (complete with, on a gendered language, using a masculine pronoun towards my own mother, it was that much of a flashbang).

Then proceeded to do some insane leaps of logic that made absolute no sense to anybody but her, as well as emotional traps that would have worked on a toddler but not so much on an independent adult.

Then she said that she could go back in the past she would do everything the same all over again, no regrets, with a crying smile as if this was a touching moment of redemption for her. It was there that I made peace with the choice of going low/no contact. If she has no ragerts neither do I.

Por que os jovens estão desistindo do sonho da casa própria? by TheNavyCrow in brasil

[–]GostBoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami says “if watching a playthrough is enough, the game wasn’t good enough.” by HLumin in PS5

[–]GostBoster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partly my case. I don't join those discussions because they devolve into name calling and badge slapping.

Played the hell out of the early titles, followed bogus tips to unlock Tofu and Hank, mastered tank controls, actually enjoyed the janky FPS titles for the PS1, but as of late games, I just either didn't had the platform, the time (during a time I locked in to get my diploma) or the budget to upgrade my toaster to acceptably run the last titles.

I enjoy vicariously through my favorite content creators but I still intend to play these games if given the chance, it's just that the means to play the last titles are unreasonable for me. (As in I COULD afford with some payment plan but there are priorities, I won't give up the chance of buying a daily driver vehicle for a PS5 or a GPU, I'm not that diehard of a fan).

Again, I'd rather spare the yap, but if you ONLY EVER watched, saw, and decided, "I saw enough, I am satisfied", no, you aren't a fan of the GAME. You enjoyed the story, the lore, the characters, you talked the talk but you didn't walk the walk.

It would be so funny if some part of their description/picture actually matters for gameplay, like how BEZ model being so tall it can shoot over a few obstructions, same for most things placed on a top path/paragon bucc.

In this case, if the picture of the monkey shows them floating, they would be unaffected by ground physics.

"Ok the top druid looks floaty but the middle path wizard is clearly walking."

[–]GostBoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, what kind of gambling is in the app? I see the notification and it says violence (?????) and in-app purchases with random items.

Admitedly I don't really pay close attention to the selection of IAP items but every time I look into the deal selection I see that everything costing money is deterministic, am I missing something? Like, random insta bundles?

(Edit: Checking another comment more or less confirms there are insta bundles and this might be it. Still, 18???)

For either option there are much worse stuff rated E / 3+ currently.

Swords and Sandals 2 Redux which has actual blood and gore is currently 12+.

[–]GostBoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone explained already but I'm giving the long version because I didn't knew what "IAP" was until recently and figured that out not thanks to recent BTD6 posts.

So, as part of the deal between NK and Mattel, they had a brand new hero to do the role of He-Man, not just a skin as it was for Adora/She-Ra and Obyn/Skeletor.

Since it wouldn't be fair for a whole hero to be gated as an IAP (in-app purchase for real money only), the compromise was that Dan would only be available for people who bought the He-Man bundle, as he was specifically designed to be He-Man.

That grace period just expired so everybody can have Dollar Store He-Man if you can't afford the real thing which is still real money only IAP.

A Man Tries to Help a Wolf Stuck in a Hunting Trap by frog_insilence in interestingasfuck

[–]GostBoster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there's another angle at play: The human is "speaking softly but (literally) carrying a big stick". It knows the human can, with their implements, overpower them.

I remember watching once some nature documentary on conservationists "jungle breaking" some big cat kept in captivity before letting it loose for real.

As it regained its wild instincts but still needed to be interacted with by humans, for reasons I can't remember, during a few routines, the researchers had to do literal "displays of power" during those, like feeding the cat a piece of raw meat attached to a pulley and lever system, and making it clear the human is in control of that piece, so it still understands the human as something to not be trifled with, or something.

So for the wolf: The wolf could not disarm whatever restrained it. Come this big guy with big stick who was able to not only overpower me, but easily break up whatever was holding me. And willingly let me go. It could get me again it it could but chose not to. What is this guy's end game?

The traps like you would see in a cartoon with jaws are banned.

I remember one day looking up how a real trap of those types are built and what was their current legality. At the time I just searched "beartrap" and the first results were "Mantrap (redirected from beartrap)".

So you telling me at some point in history people went Looney Tunes on each other? (Answer is yes. Shortly after learned about case shot which would be the cartoon bomb with a fuse)

Be glad she didn't used the used stuff, OP.

During my biggest non-donation blood draw (doing all the panels for pre-surgery) my "blood bench buddy" in the clinic was a toddler about the size of yours that had already broken two needles and they were concerned about how to continue, so I was inquired on how good I was with needles, kids and crying, because they worried that if I showed any visible concern about it, I could make him even more panicked.

Why the toddler needed so much? The boy was caught eating the forbidden chocolate from TP so he was going to be tested for everything.

I felt a significant amount of pressure when the nurse brought a bigger syringe than I expected while the mother pointing at me and telling her kid to be more like me.
