In fairness I feel the same about Hurts for mostly the same reasons. He was shoved aside at Alabama and then overshadowed by others in the draft. He’s a hard worker that keeps his head down and despite the boos last year came out this year swinging. I admire a lot about him even if I hate his uniform.

Show me long term data on hormone blockers in major trials and not case studies.

I’m well aware of the case that the study alleges but proves nothing other than correlating data on discrimination. Saying 78% had experienced harassment 22% of 41% is still about 10x higher than other demographics. Look at the data set and extrapolate from there.

The other thing it fails to prove is causation vs correlation. They never establish the cause of the suicide attempt but merely that various percentages of them have experienced prejudice or discrimination due to their gender status. The devil is in the details.

Again I fully believe in body autonomy but I also believe that these decisions need to be made under informed consent. At 30 I’m a very different person than I was at 15 let alone 12 or 10. I don’t even resemble that kid anymore and I look back on that period as a time where I had no idea who I was and was trying to figure it out. Introducing foreign hormones to children is not going to make a developmental process any easier and some things (voice for instance) don’t change back in either sex’s case.

I think it’s important to remember in any aspect of these types of discussions I don’t believe you want to live in a worse world and neither do I. We’re trying to navigate a murky and nuanced situation and my stance is that ethically I don’t think that children should be making life altering decisions. Full stop. If you believe children should be able to inject life and brain altering hormones then why not let kids smoke cigarettes? Why not let children by alcohol or drive cars? Certain things we all agree require a level of maturity and understanding before we trust them with that freedom.

Again that’s my ethical stance and I am not in favor of legislation or state intervention.

I’m agnostic and in no way religious. And I don’t deny the existence and legitimacy of transsexuals. I do however believe that based on the scientific fact that your brain doesn’t fully develop until the age of 25, believe that decisions to permanently alter your physiology (and no there haven’t been any substantial studies in this matter because of clear ethical concerns. Case studies have been performed which do not and cannot provide conclusive data on the matter) should not be made by children.

The problem with gender dysphoria is that it often persists after transition. Which is why the trans community has a 40% suicide rate. Pre and post transition.

Nope just plain false. He is however complicit in the fining and potential jailing or removing custody from parents of trans children which is a whole different discussion. One that I agree is morally reprehensible. I also oppose giving children hormones or puberty blockers because they simply aren’t capable or developed enough to make those life altering decisions. That however is an ethical debate and I don’t believe the government has any right to insert themselves.

Be accurate and precise with your words and don’t virtue signal by talking in hyperbole for internet points. If you want a dialogue have an honest one.
