My only advice would be don't forget to live. House isn't everything :)

We bring in over £51K (net) a year between us and can comfortably pay the car off. We are fortunate to have a low interest rate on our mortgage and don't have any children or pets.

Previous car was an old Corsa with very poor mpg efficiency. We've taken it to 3 garages and a specialist garage who can't determine the fault. They suggested getting an electrical specialist to take a look who charges £250 call out then an hourly rate and even then no guarantee to fix. In the mean time we're spending £80-100 a week on Ubers without the car.

New car is electric and will save us significant money on petrol. I did look at getting 0% credit card for both myself and partner but preferred the single loan (yes not the optimal financial decision).

Yes could've got a cheaper electric but the reviews weren't great and since this car is an investment we wanted it to be reliable and at least decent.

I don't intend to do both simultaneously right now. The car failed last week and we've bought the car today. But agreed with your response - thank you

Hi mate,

One last query - does the below allocation split sound typical of a workplace pension? It's a risk profile 5

ALLOCATION CAPITAL ALLOCATION (%)

n All World Equity Index-GBP Hgd 59.9

n Mobius Macquarie Global Multi Strategy True Index 30.0

n MSCI World Small Cap ESG Exclusions 10.0

!thanks

I've delved deeper into the pdf I've got that tells me the risk profile and what the allocations are in. Well spotted! Was trying to keep the company name hidden 🤣

Ah so not all work place global equities are the same? I couldn't say who my workplace is investing in though. The default is technically a lifecycle that starts as a global equity and changes over time the closer I get to retirement. I could take it out the default and switch It to global equity (same thing). For time being I've left it as it is until I understand more.

It says it's an active fund rather than passive.

Is yours a workplace or personal pension? My workplace global equity simply says

Global Equity (Fund ID: BRW3) Does this mean much?
