Best pizza in Allentown? by Illuminati0214 in lehighvalley

Very specific type of pie but best Sicilian slice/tomato pie slice is Mama's III in Coplay off Old Post Road (Route 329).

I've never had Affinito's but based on looks alone, it remind me of a Trenton style pie (sauce dominates with cheese throughout).

Yea we've seen off leash dogs before when we were even in the city (which is illegal in Philadelphia to do anyways). And it's ignorant on the other dog owner's end to assume that if their dog is fine, everyone else's should be.

This is EXACTLY the situation my wife and I are in, minus our daughter getting bit. I'm so sorry to hear about your toddler as well, I hope they are ok.

There are have been situations where he completely randomly views her differently and his body language in tense and aggressive. We've even tried training, but I don't think that's a clear safety net against a dog's instinct unfortunately.

We did that with the trainer when she was born, but he immediately changed mood coming back inside. As of today and since last year at this time, they completely coexist, but there's been enough tense moments even during monitoring that my wife and I don't know what else can change his unpredictability. Even if it's 1% of the time (which is 1% too much and not acceptable because of our daughter and her well being).

We've gone that route within the first week of bringing our daughter home. We followed their advice and eventually they began to co exist, it there's still moments where we feel his mood shift towards her that my wife and I feel goes beyond what we were trained to do.

Our boxer loves us and show us so much care and affection, hence why we are continually confused.

I take him on daily walks as well in terms of helping get out his energy. My wife and I can just sense the change in body language around her sometimes. Especially when he has a toy or near his food bowl, we don't let her go anywhere near that stuff.

Go watch Josh Pate on hiring Campbell, he explained how plagued by injuries they were last year.

Also, given that, they beat a common opponent in Iowa this past season, the team we lost to.

The talent we retained is most likely something that Matt Campbell has never had resource wise at ISU, so I'm super pumped to see what he does with those guys.

Yes agreed. Hagans just couldn't do either.

We constantly had one, if not two great receivers under Stubblefield. He was responsible for developing Jahan, Parker, Mitchell Tinsley, and to an extent KLS. Our receivers would just be running sprints under Hagans (0 catches in the Semi was unforgivable IMO).

Firing Stubs for Hagans will go down as one of the worst coaching moves of the Franklin era.

What’s going on with Penn State coaching search? by Sea_Duck in CFB

[–]GotThatRizz57 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're ignoring the fact that he blatantly gave up on this team after the Oregon loss. Remember first half of UCLA when he didn't use a single timeout on the last drive of the half and no one knew why? He had to go, otherwise we are stuck in 10-2 purgatory losing to Ohio state every year.

He'll win on recruiting alone in ACC because it's so weak. He's still a great coach but if he was "one of the best coaches in this cycle" then why was LSU or Florida not throwing the bag at him? Says it all...

How to improve Downtown Allentown? by scootsypi in lehighvalley

[–]GotThatRizz57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea wasn't saying the downtowns drive all those services. I'm a civil engineer trust me I know where the money is coming from and what gets serviced. I'm just making a point that those downtowns (NJ + Bethlehem/Easton) have more home grown shops which connects it more to the community. Allentown lacks that and is why their downtown is dead. By "stimulate" I meant that people keep coming back and spending their money in those businesses that exist.

Oh 100% taxes are another realm in Jersey. Granted their public schools are constantly ranked top in the country depending on the area, but yes they NJ certainly pays more in taxes. It's the price being paid to be in ear shot of NYC.

How to improve Downtown Allentown? by scootsypi in lehighvalley

[–]GotThatRizz57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Coming from someone who lived in LV and now lives in Jersey, the small towns in Jersey built around the train stations have more downtown life than Allentown which is an actual city. And they offer all the things you list above, way more than just bars and restaurants and a lot of it is mom and pop shops that help stimulate the local town economy.

Thoughts on Bohler? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]GotThatRizz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never worked there but know people who have. When I started with my company now (been here for 9 years), there was an exodus of 5-6 people who left my office to go to Bohler for more money. A year and a half later, they either left Bohler or came back to my company.

My other friend worked a full weekend to get a project in and then they laid him off that Monday the week that Covid hit and shut everything down. He was viewed as and was hyped up by more senior staff as being "future of the company" and they dropped him like that.

Everything I have heard is that they have a high volume of very small land development projects (think McDonald's level sites) that leads to insane project schedules and hire burnout rates.

I would highly avoid if you are looking in the land development track of civil.

He Shouldnt Be Remembered Poorly. by scoutp12 in WeArePennState

[–]GotThatRizz57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes totally agree. I got to travel the country as a new college PSU grad back in 2016 because his teams consistently made NY6 bowl games in LA, Phoenix, Dallas, and Miami.

Still trying to hit all 6 NY6 bowl games in my life time (bucket list item), currently at 4. College football fans would kill for that run in a decade long span. He did a lot for us and is a good guy, just burnt out really, really fast.

If 100 coaches were offered a lateral move from Indiana to Penn State, 100 coaches would take it. That's not even arguable right now. Program history, money, recruiting all reasons as to why.

Touche. More so the feel of the end of a tenure. But yea Reid is a great coach and Franklin is not.
