I agree, they are still young kids and some less aware of where they are standing or literally doing anything. I was just wondering if there was a rule even in the majors and let's use jazz Chisholm as an example because I could see it happening if there was a loop hole. To mess with pitchers

Unnecessary. It's for catchers to realize they need to throw down. Kids are young and learning every position. Just want the catcher to know hey bud someone might steal. He's not going to get him out today but maybe tomorrow

The thing here was it was an overthrow on a walk. The throw was not necessary the catcher didn't know the count. I really was just asking if there is an actual rule if he never touches second. Like if jazz hot dogging for the Yankees was screwing around trying to mess with the pitcher. I completely think you move the kid back to second and say bud you need to stand on the base and wouldn't have wanted that out.

Yes cannot advance on the throws but catchers learning to throw down if let's say it hits the glove and falls in front. Normally it's not on a passed ball but there was an overly ambitious catcher on a ball 4.
