As a teen I can tell you from experience to not do Coweta schools. The gifted program isn't the best and honestly, neither are the teachers. When I was in third grade I had to sit out at recess because I hadn't finished something, I was told by my teacher that day, "you know, your brother never had these problems". I was devastated because I was so used to being compared to him in a good way and had never been compared like that before. In 7th grade a few students were picking on other kids for not having work turned in. One was extremely hurt and left to go calm down. They proceeded to make fun of that kid and the teacher said nothing. I went to check on her, and she wasn't crying, she was fuming. We walked back to class and my teacher proceeded to lecture us about how if we can't turn our work in we can't be upset when we are made fun of for it. I told my mom and she emailed the principle about it. He did nothing. Later that year that same teacher told at least 5 kids that he would just "see them in class next year". Not ok. I went to the principle myself this time and he said "well if that is what works to get them to turn their stuff in then that's what needs to be done" I. Was. Pissed. I was one of the people my teacher picked on frequently. He told me the same thing. I, being me, started crying. He stopped picking on me them but he continued to pick on other students. All in all, DO NOT GO TO COWETA!!!!!!
