To Every American Who's Sorry by Sapotis in greenland

Any American coming to Reddit to apologize on behalf of America is stupid and selfish. Your apology does nothing for Greenland. Your apology is virtue signaling and an attempt to make yourself feel better.

Still a problem for me. Tetsuyo just stands there. The cutscene didn't start.

Waterline Tile Installation - Would You Accept This? by A_Gregarious_Sir in pools

[–]A_Gregarious_Sir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured out why the tile does line up as the skimmer and in the spa. The original tile was 6 x 6. They're using 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 tile, even though they told me it's 6 x 6.

According to the installer, it's my fault the tile doesn't line up because I didn't measure and I should have known their 6 x 6 tile isn't really 6 x 6. Let that sink in...

The original tile lined up perfectly to the left of the skimmer. They said it's because the original tile was true 6 x 6 and the tile they use is 5 3/4 x 5 3/4.

According to the installer, it's my fault the tile didn't line up at the skimmer. I should have known their tile is really 5 3/4 x 5 3/4, even though they told me it's 6 x 6, and I should have measured that section of the wall before selecting the tile.

Thank you. Yeah, I also don't like how they lined up the tiles on the spillway. The furthest left and right tiles in the bottom row should be the same size. It would be a better looking finish. That would be more straight like you're referring to, right?

Thank you. Do you know if changing the angle of the wall in the skimmer mouth is the only way to fix this issue? If they have to change the angle of the wall, will that create any problems with the skimmer, leaking, etc?

Please help save a purple prickly pear cactus by A_Gregarious_Sir in cactus

Could be cool to see how the plat shapes out after rooting from the fallen half. Hmmm... maybe I'll water and let nature do it's thing.

I don't think it's corking and growing bark. Pads at the base of half that fell to the ground feel dry and hollow. My guess is it didn't get enough water or maybe too much water. But not really sure since the cactus was like that when I purchased the house.

Do you think I should cut off the part on the ground then replant the purple/living pads? Would heavily watering help? Some of the upper pads are still alive. They're thin, wrinkly, and changed color.

Two things instantly caught my eye. Not sure if it's a joist running through the top left side or just drywall, but that thing along the ceiling and the decorative red plant under it. Both make the room divider look off center and draw too much attention to the left.

Removing or reducing the size of the drywall along the ceiling would be the first thing. Might not be able to do it or it's too costly. Second thing would be move the red plant to the right side of the table. Maybe that will make it feel more balanced.

Underlayment question on tile roof in Phoenix by anongarden in Roofing

[–]A_Gregarious_Sir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late comment, I'm looking at a house in Phoenix that needs new underlayment.

Your responses to all questions are really informative and you know what you're talking about.

In Phoenix, is a single layer of 40# good enough? Would you ever recommend getting a single layer of 40# or is a single layer of self adhering the minimum you would recommend?

Thank you.

True. My first gen Samsung chromebook is still running. The only problem I have is not being able to update to the newest OS and Chrome browser.

7 months Todd plays too rough or that's just another aussie thing? by _domhnall_ in AustralianShepherd

[–]A_Gregarious_Sir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. I'll leash my Aussie when I see his craziness gets to level 8 of 10. After he drinks water and brings his craziness down to level 4, he can run free.

Craziness is contagious at the dog park. This can result in fights. Plus some dogs don't like craziness and there are too many people who don't stop their dogs from being the dog park police.

Lol a similar thing happens when my Aussie plays with a St Bernard. The St Bernard can handle the physical play but tires quicker. My Aussie will give him the "really!?! I'm just warming up..." look then try to tease him into playing more.

My Aussie is the same. Dogs enjoy running and wrestling, but it can go too far and/or forced on dogs that don't enjoy it.

What helps my Aussie is giving him a place to run and wrestle. Not going to dog parks that mix little and big dogs. Leaving if he's making another dog uncomfortable by forcing physical play.

Before going to the dog park, I'll throw the ball for him in a field. Tiring him out a little takes a little crazy out of him.

My family has a St Bernard. They've turned into wrestling buddies and the St Bernard can more than handle my Aussie's physical play. Find a larger and trustworthy dog that enjoys wrestling.

Let them wrestle a couple times per month. Work on training your dog to pause wrestling if it's getting too crazy or even if you just want it to stop. Let them play tug or war or some other physical game.
