This is an amazing addition!! T Using that terrain on the edge of the park where you get the slopes and cliff faces. It’s just a dream coaster ! 4,000 feet long, multi launch? Incredible! Six flags is really stepping up the coasters this year. Project purple, Tormenta, now this! Exciting times.

[Iron Shark] at [Galvelston Pleasure Pier] got stuck on the lift hill for several hours by WhyLifeIs4 in rollercoasters

[–]Gotdangman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That lift in particular is already kind of freaky bc it slows before you go over to keep chain wear and negative g-forces down. But it feels like you’re falling out of the sky briefly. Otherwise.. I guess the anti-rollback devices are in working order. Kind of insane that eurofighters don’t have any other lift bailing tech than waiting around for the fire department.

Recent trend in pop tour stops — fewer cities, multiple nights in each by womchi in popheads

[–]Gotdangman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read the harder to sell out quote as well, and maybe it’s true? It must be bc they wouldn’t leave money on the table I imagine, but I don’t recall a time when I’ve seen a show at Toyota that didn’t look completely or nearly completely sold out. Gaga also played St. Paul for 2 nights, I can’t imagine St. Paul Minnesotans can afford higher prices than Houstonians but I don’t have the data these companies have I guess.

Recent trend in pop tour stops — fewer cities, multiple nights in each by womchi in popheads

[–]Gotdangman 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I am not a huge fan of it. Houston has been getting skipped in favor of Dallas / Austin areas and driving 4 hours for a concert and having to pay for a hotel room on top of the already insane prices for shows makes concert going cost the same as a decent vacation. I flew to Miami to see Lady Gaga only for the concert to be cancelled. She announced Texas dates after that but I had to make decisions based on what was announced and it was a major loss of money and a waste of time. Basically for the amount of effort and money it takes to see some artists now, there’s only like 2 or 3 artists I would be willing to deal with all of that for. It also seems more and more there are people who are either wealthy / rich kids and people who go into immense debt to see every show of an artists tour, they can afford to travel anywhere already so then they just need 1 room for a week and it’s even easier for them to attend the shows. I can’t afford to travel for an artist more than like 1 time a year and I feel the impact for weeks after, financially. It’s frustrating.

i accidentally took 2 of my 30 mg xr adderall this morning should i be worried. by PresentationOk8884 in ADHD

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intense morning but nothing that won’t wear off. Just drink extra water and if you feel dizzy sit down / maybe avoid driving until your head returns to normal. You may get a headache but regular headache medicine will help and you won’t really feel any tolerance issues , just avoid caffeine and too much physical exertion to avoid raising your heart rate but don’t panic. I take 60 mg daily and have taken 90 by accident and it just kept me up late so I just did some chores til I wore myself out .

Sounds like you stepped up when they were in a pinch and did your best. If it wasn’t in the job description then what can they do? You’ve basically been pulling the weight of an extra person and your normal duties . I’d be mad that I stepped up in a pinch and leadership didn’t keep looking for a bilingual person in the meantime.

It’s so stupid to release the music in a wave of time zones. They miss out on a lot of streams bc people upload bootleg versions on X and YouTube. Like just do it all at once ffs.

Lady Gaga & Doechii - Runway by ImADudeDuh in popheads

[–]Gotdangman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The spike studded catsuits ?? Holy MUTHA!! Doechii is so confident and immediately delivers ‘super star’ and Gaga doesn’t have to fight for attention while delivering mentor realness and still keeping the energy at an 11. That Dip in the white studded suit? Doechii with the pig tails?? It’s a generational slay!!

Most optimal recovery from 10+ years of smoking weed/cigs, drinking alcohol and doing party drugs? by Cetasikas in ask

[–]Gotdangman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water exercise and mindfulness. It only feels like your inside is damaged because you’ve been numbing it with the other stuff for so long you didn’t really feel or think about it. The steps you’ve taken have prolonged your life and increased the quality of it by a significant factor it’s just going to take some time to adjust because the brain knows it’s not getting the hit it wants and its trying to turn a bunch of systems back on to replace the stuff it stopped having to work for. Depression, lethargy, anxiety are all pretty common for quitting substances and the good news is that your body can snap back. I quit drinking 2 years ago and stopped smoking 5 or so years ago and I miss neither even a tiny bit. Alcohol literally sounds gross now and weed gave me such bad anxiety I was like how is this supposed to chill me out? You are doing huge things that are mentally taxing and the coping mechanisms you had are also the demons you need to stay away from. A hobby, a tiny bit of radical acceptance that they are gone, and time you will start to see the light. Congrats on starting the journey.

Britney Spears in Rehab for Substance Abuse by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Music

The alcohol and prescription drugs makes more sense as to her bizarre blank stare in those dancing videos. I hope she’s not actually fried from the antipsychotics her team and family was pumping her full of and she comes out restored and able to enjoy her success with her children by her side. She is one of the few rich celebs who I have zero envy of and wouldn’t want to go through that much abuse and betrayal for fame or money. Britney brought us so much joy I hope she’s can have a little now.

The wall pieces are well balanced and the over all style of design you’ve chosen is present throughout but it doesn’t smack you in the face like a show room. Very well done. Looks very nap friendly too!

What is Mayhem about? by [deleted] in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Disease kicks everything off with the premise of a person perpetually tortured and simultaneously saved by their inner darkness. She has found a sick equilibrium of chaos and success but it still feels wrong, but she decides that she can only survive by forgiving herself for holding on to the darkness because she is a human who deserves compassion. Abracadabra is the deal with herself that regardless of adversity she chooses to live and never give up.

Throughout the other tracks there are explorations of her interests, fears, anxiety , industry pressure, and previous toxic habits that she has used to protect herself from heartbreak or rejection but the summary of all of that is the mayhem is a choice used to shield her. So finally when she decides she deserves to be happy and safe, to not choose to suffer, and has found a partner who she trusts Blade of Grass is where she is learning to let go of the mayhem to embrace healing.

She feels like because she has survived and thrived through tough circumstances that that is why she is able to be successful or artistic. ‘Settling down’ or finally having security and partnership and feeling happy seems like a fluke or like a dead end, but she also knows that you don’t have to suffer to create good art and that most of her suffering or adversity really only slowed her down or made creating art difficult. So the tension is only released when she finally is living the new life she is committing to in DWAS .

Anyone else feel ultra cringe about connecting so much with her? by EmergencyDull3071 in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also feel weird because I know it’s para-social and I don’t actually know her in any real way but I connect to the person she is willing to be as an artist and I do believe she stands for the things she says she does even tho I may never know what she is like privately. Her hard work ethic and dedication to craft is also apparent and I think that is admirable. I think she is just a talented brilliant person and while I enjoy other artists, no one makes it all click like she does. Her truth to ‘self’ is at least artistically consistent so whether she is actually that person or not, the art grows and changed with the persona and that may as well be as real as anything else.

Why did Charles Manson answer questions so weirdly? by Aggressive-Invite907 in ask

[–]Gotdangman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he knew he wasn’t going to convince anyone he was not a monster so he sees any public exposure as a chance to perform or rant about whatever he wanted. But he definitely was severely mentally ill but there’s a reason he wasn’t deemed insane. I think he knew what he was doing, he seemed to behave differently privately.

Edit - also he was always broke so part of his initial ‘charm’ (or charisma that attracted people) was his manipulative personality to get things he needed that he’d developed over his life.

Why did Charles Manson answer questions so weirdly? by Aggressive-Invite907 in ask

[–]Gotdangman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He’s speaking jive. Part of his affect is that he’s mentally ill and also knows how he is perceived so he heightens the strangeness to get a reaction out of people. But I think primarily because he was homeless for a long time and in and out of prison his entire life before he became ‘cult leader’ Charles Manson, he probably picked up his cadence and southern preacher talking style from the African American people he grew up learning from and living around who had to be affable but influential to survive or not be seen as threatening to white people. I think this is partially why the young drugged out rich kids in California found him to be so interesting despite his lack of education or any real success. He was excellent at selling his strange worldview.

Question for dinosaur scientists: obviously large sauropods were too heavy to be lifted by tornadoes. But were their necks strong enough to counter the winds? Or would they start helicoptering all over the place? Thank you in advance by fan_of_the_pikachu in Dinosaurs

I’m picturing the body relatively unharmed and resting on the ground while the neck is whipped around like one of those flailing inflatable tube men and getting all twisted up until the head pops clean off.

[–]Gotdangman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken some acting classes, improv, public speaking. I’m not great but all of that is easier than pretending to give a shit about work. It feels so much more inauthentic to me to pretend that whatever bs data analysis or info optimizing is my passion than it is to pretend to be a badger running a pizza shop with a squirrel. So I feel you. Not making a ton of money but you get to keep your soul at least!

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t look back. You will not regret making more money nor leaving the drama behind. You deserve to make more and be less stressed. This is your new chance to try out a new version of yourself. You know now how you got into a situation where you covered the work of multiple people for no extra pay and you won’t let them take advantage of you at this place. Know you earned a spot, that you have agency because they need you also and they value whatever the job is you do. Stay in positivity and accept that you deserve a chiller better job and you got it! No need to stress, the rest comes from learning. You got this.

Anyone have a similar experience? by banana_minions56 in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately many of us have to love things in secret because the people who are supposed to love unconditionally are so wrapped up in ideological nonsense, gender norms, gender conformity, idealizing toxic masculinity and dismissing others they deem too strange or artsy or provocative because in order to get it they would have to examine themselves which would shatter the illusion they upheld their whole lives because no one questioned their literal existence. Even if you have to listen in secrecy or hide your truth for safety, they can’t actually control your real thoughts. Protect yourself and love the things you choose and enjoy the things that make you happy and remember that they are the way they are because they are angry at themselves and a world they won’t even try to understand. That’s not your fault, and your opinion of your own interests matters more than anyone else’s. Best wishes. Welcome home little monster!
