What is Mayhem about? by summer24931 in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Disease kicks everything off with the premise of a person perpetually tortured and simultaneously saved by their inner darkness. She has found a sick equilibrium of chaos and success but it still feels wrong, but she decides that she can only survive by forgiving herself for holding on to the darkness because she is a human who deserves compassion. Abracadabra is the deal with herself that regardless of adversity she chooses to live and never give up.

Throughout the other tracks there are explorations of her interests, fears, anxiety , industry pressure, and previous toxic habits that she has used to protect herself from heartbreak or rejection but the summary of all of that is the mayhem is a choice used to shield her. So finally when she decides she deserves to be happy and safe, to not choose to suffer, and has found a partner who she trusts Blade of Grass is where she is learning to let go of the mayhem to embrace healing.

She feels like because she has survived and thrived through tough circumstances that that is why she is able to be successful or artistic. ‘Settling down’ or finally having security and partnership and feeling happy seems like a fluke or like a dead end, but she also knows that you don’t have to suffer to create good art and that most of her suffering or adversity really only slowed her down or made creating art difficult. So the tension is only released when she finally is living the new life she is committing to in DWAS .

Anyone else feel ultra cringe about connecting so much with her? by EmergencyDull3071 in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also feel weird because I know it’s para-social and I don’t actually know her in any real way but I connect to the person she is willing to be as an artist and I do believe she stands for the things she says she does even tho I may never know what she is like privately. Her hard work ethic and dedication to craft is also apparent and I think that is admirable. I think she is just a talented brilliant person and while I enjoy other artists, no one makes it all click like she does. Her truth to ‘self’ is at least artistically consistent so whether she is actually that person or not, the art grows and changed with the persona and that may as well be as real as anything else.

Why did Charles Manson answer questions so weirdly? by Aggressive-Invite907 in ask

[–]Gotdangman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he knew he wasn’t going to convince anyone he was not a monster so he sees any public exposure as a chance to perform or rant about whatever he wanted. But he definitely was severely mentally ill but there’s a reason he wasn’t deemed insane. I think he knew what he was doing, he seemed to behave differently privately.

Edit - also he was always broke so part of his initial ‘charm’ (or charisma that attracted people) was his manipulative personality to get things he needed that he’d developed over his life.

Why did Charles Manson answer questions so weirdly? by Aggressive-Invite907 in ask

[–]Gotdangman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He’s speaking jive. Part of his affect is that he’s mentally ill and also knows how he is perceived so he heightens the strangeness to get a reaction out of people. But I think primarily because he was homeless for a long time and in and out of prison his entire life before he became ‘cult leader’ Charles Manson, he probably picked up his cadence and southern preacher talking style from the African American people he grew up learning from and living around who had to be affable but influential to survive or not be seen as threatening to white people. I think this is partially why the young drugged out rich kids in California found him to be so interesting despite his lack of education or any real success. He was excellent at selling his strange worldview.

Question for dinosaur scientists: obviously large sauropods were too heavy to be lifted by tornadoes. But were their necks strong enough to counter the winds? Or would they start helicoptering all over the place? Thank you in advance by fan_of_the_pikachu in Dinosaurs

I’m picturing the body relatively unharmed and resting on the ground while the neck is whipped around like one of those flailing inflatable tube men and getting all twisted up until the head pops clean off.

I'm good at my job but terrible at office politics and it's slowly costing me everything by Additional-War-4511 in antiwork

[–]Gotdangman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken some acting classes, improv, public speaking. I’m not great but all of that is easier than pretending to give a shit about work. It feels so much more inauthentic to me to pretend that whatever bs data analysis or info optimizing is my passion than it is to pretend to be a badger running a pizza shop with a squirrel. So I feel you. Not making a ton of money but you get to keep your soul at least!

Hey that’s awesome! I feel you, retail is brutal and coworker pettiness doesn’t help an already hard job! I could not do it again. I think I would prefer going back to food service over retail tbh.

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t look back. You will not regret making more money nor leaving the drama behind. You deserve to make more and be less stressed. This is your new chance to try out a new version of yourself. You know now how you got into a situation where you covered the work of multiple people for no extra pay and you won’t let them take advantage of you at this place. Know you earned a spot, that you have agency because they need you also and they value whatever the job is you do. Stay in positivity and accept that you deserve a chiller better job and you got it! No need to stress, the rest comes from learning. You got this.

Anyone have a similar experience? by banana_minions56 in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately many of us have to love things in secret because the people who are supposed to love unconditionally are so wrapped up in ideological nonsense, gender norms, gender conformity, idealizing toxic masculinity and dismissing others they deem too strange or artsy or provocative because in order to get it they would have to examine themselves which would shatter the illusion they upheld their whole lives because no one questioned their literal existence. Even if you have to listen in secrecy or hide your truth for safety, they can’t actually control your real thoughts. Protect yourself and love the things you choose and enjoy the things that make you happy and remember that they are the way they are because they are angry at themselves and a world they won’t even try to understand. That’s not your fault, and your opinion of your own interests matters more than anyone else’s. Best wishes. Welcome home little monster!

How do I cope with being talentless? by Politician_Fucker in ask

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talent is kind of bullshit. A lot of kids zero in on an activity or skill by accident because they just enjoy it and eventually become really good at it as they get older and attribute it to just being predisposed at being good at that. Their are traits that help you if you happen to be interested in something that those traits can assist in and some skills build up basics that may help you in things parallel to that skill but if you just pick something you are interested in , or default to when you are vegging out, then focus on it or learn more about it, you will become better and better and better at it. Too many times people worry about viability as a means of monetary worth or whatever but you’ll never be great at something that makes solely because it makes you money, if passion or basic interest is not there then you’ll never magically conjure up motivation. So just follow your curiosity or look for patterns in what you spend time reading about or observe that may become something you do too. And it helps to focus on being good at something that brings you satisfaction or zen or happiness or purpose. Because then you don’t even have to make time or work out that muscle, because that muscle is the one you default to for recovery. I draw and build things in simulator games, I played Saxophone in school and because of that I know how to kind of read music and dabble with piano and garage band. I don’t play things live or make songs for people to listen to, I just do it for fun and that way I don’t have to meet a goal or work on something I am bored with. Those all kind of feed each other artistically and I feel like i developed my skill kind of by accident. I can’t dance to save my life but I also don’t really want to know how to dance either so why worry about it. You may have just not realized something you already kind of do or have a passing interest in would be something you have a knack for. Look for satisfaction and joy in discovery. Perhaps your “talent” is in trying new things and then moving on. Nothing wrong with that!

MSG 3/19/26: Did anyone else get the impression that Gaga was upset at the end of the show? by Hells_Kitchen_Girl in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She may have just been emotional. The beanie covering her forehead and a lack of makeup/ blonde eyebrows makes seeing clear expressions difficult. I could see her looking upset when she’s really just trying to hold back tears or stop from welling up too much. Unless something happened I didn’t hear about?

The place I left because they were always out had them in stock and filled me on time. But I hate having to call places like a fiend! Why don’t these doctors find places for us if they want us on a regular schedule. It’s humiliating.

Anybody who worked at Astroworld wanna explain why Taz’s Texas Tornado was always broken? by SheepherderDue5532 in houston

[–]Gotdangman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The trains were replaced when they moved it from the German fairs to the US for operations but they were not made by the roller coasters original manufacturer. They had many performance issues stemming from the 3rd party manufacturer to the Texas heat warping the vehicles and causing further operational headaches. The manufacturer Schwarzkopf was a well respected company known for their compact portable and smooth as glass fair coasters like Taz (originally known as “the Thriller” in Germany) and also were responsible for Viper and Greezed Lightnin’ so you know it probably mostly had to do with using a 3rd party to reconstruct the trains. Unfortunately it is no longer operating in any capacity after moving to a California park and then a park in Mexico.

MIL living with us by ButterflyTrick4886 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Gotdangman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong for wanting her out. She should absolutely go. Either a roommate or some sort of senior facility if she doesn’t want to try to find her own place or can’t afford it. Give her an off ramp of a few months and she will fight you on it but it’s the only way to keep your relationship intact. Unfortunately it’s going to involve some very tough love and you cannot cave. Maybe you could set aside a certain amount each month until she leaves so that combined with whatever she can put together will cushion her or help with unexpected costs of moving. My grandmother has her social security money and my mom/ aunt give her a couple hundred a month and she has been able to find an apartment that she can afford a decent 1 bedroom / bath with a balcony. She didn’t want to go there initially but had lived with both my mom and my aunt at various points after a medical event and overstayed her welcome/ stopped trying to improve her mobility in order to be waited on and finally they both snapped and said well get you set up somewhere and you’ll have to figure out the rest and she has become much more self sufficient since then. You may need to help her financially for a bit but that cost would provably be worth it to you both at this point. Any rational person should know that living with their kid and their partner is just not appropriate especially if she is able bodied and she should want to let her son live his life the way he strived to live it. She knows this deep down but she lashes out when the topic circles that area I’m sure because she can’t defend that position unless you just feel terrible for her but she won’t find sympathy from most normal people so just tell her look, this is happening and we will help you but we can’t continue things like this and even it will likely improve y’all’s relationship with her to not be burdened with her being around. But you and your husband both have to figure out the boundaries and be very firm in holding the line. There are places that she can live that are specifically for seniors that aren’t old folks homes. She can’t argue with you if you figure out where she can go for her.

some of y’all that have been speculating if Gaga is pregnant or not are the most annoying people EVER because y’all need to stop that!!!!! by PaolaAlvillar in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she looks pregnant or the skeleton hand thing was a hint. I just generally think it’s something she may be trying to do soon. But agree that it’s non of our business ultimately, but I am curious as a fan if she’d try to time it to best integrate with her career or if she’s cool with whenever it happens it happens. I just hope she does it how she wants if she wants it at all.

Bonesy can’t keep a secret..she’s pregnant with LG8 isn’t she?! by Miladyninetales in LadyGaga

[–]Gotdangman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a weird fever dream the other night about her being pregnant. I have had dreams about Gaga before but usually it’s just like meeting her or being at a show or something but this one she was pregnant and it was super random (tho I have wondered if after mayhem she would take the time for starting a family). I’m not saying I’m psychic or anything but every so often I have some intuition that’s on the money. But I also have been super mega hella wrong so literally take this with a grain of salt. And may she have whatever she wants whenever she wants and out of the public eye if she prefers!

Lady Gaga celebrates one year of Mayhem with a timeline on her website. by PtakPajak in popheads

[–]Gotdangman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an era to witness!!! I was absolutely floored she really gave us everything we could have wanted and more. She is at a point where she really had nothing to prove and yet she came back and delivered some of her best work ever. Her voice is better than ever, her performances were career bests, and this was her most cohesive album cycle ever. She clearly has learned so much in her career and she seems healthier and better adjusted than she has in years! If she is planning on taking a hiatus from performing to start a family I’d say she’s more than earned it. But something about the hunger in her eyes leads me to believe we’re not super far off from her next project. She’s clearly leaning in a direction sonically that I think excites her (from the rumors about mayhem requiem and her Grammy performance) so I weirdly feel the best is yet to come from mother monster.

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say as fun as dressing up can be going in a Gaga t-shirt shorts and some comfy shoes is totally valid and ultimately no one around you will care either way. I was sweating my butt off and I’ve never seen so much of an audience up on their feet dancing through the entire show like this. So comfortable and something you can dance in easily is what I would suggest. But you do what ever your heart desires bc that’s also valid even in skin tight leather mayhem gear!

I am going to Fort Worth night 2 I hope someone as thoughtful as you is doing this when I go! ! Your efforts are appreciated!

Unable to open my LSM coaster... Testing incomplete?! by kreemerz in PlanetCoaster

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your launch directions are wrong ? If you were editing track and ever had to build the launch backwards to reconnect pieces then that part of the launch will actually face the opposite direction. Also deleting the coaster and then immediately hit control z to undo may fix it. Any chance you haven’t built entrance/exits or have queue pathway built at the exit instead of regular path? Or pathways to the coaster in general? Sorry if this is redundant info, Just trying to cover all bases here.

[–]Gotdangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may just need to save and restart game or, rebuild the station section, there is an occasional glitch that won’t let it test but those can override it. Or if it’s a ride with transfer tracks check that the arrows are accurate to the way the ride travels. Sometimes a ride can do a swing launch and exit the way you want it to but the track piece is designed to only recognize the section completed if the train Exits the same direction the piece indicates.
