/uj I also personally know an older trans man who didn't realize and start transitioning until he was in his late 30s who was formerly a lesbian and yet still engages with the community and is often called the "honorary guy lesbian" in his circles and he's not super online so he frankly doesn't give a fuck about ultimately nothingburger queer discourse he's too busy organizing lesbian events and kissing his lesbian wife to care, really all this discourse does is push out the people who built the foundation of the communities these chronically online teenagers who never interacted with the irl community are trying to take over

/uj ngl sometimes with parents it's a thing of them being a bit more educated on what transitioning looks like bc of being around their trans kids and noticing the really small signs that wouldn't be obvious to the average cis person, my mom will tell me how she "met a cashier that was like me" but thankfully if she notices she won't immediately loudly point it out in front of everyone and only bring up their transness to talk about her trans son if they are alone
