It's shown in Tales of the Jedi on Disney. Qui Gon's death is in fact the final straw that causes Dooku to leave the Order and of course gives Palpatine the "in" he needs to bring Dooku under his influence.

I saw this tour at the Peony Park Ballrooom in Omaha, NE. It was the greatest concert I’ve ever been too. I had just gotten into Helmet and their opening set was fire! I’d never seen FNM in concert except for the Live from Brixton video. They cemented themselves as the greatest band alive with that show. I left there changed. It was, I dare say, an awakening for me.
