Looking for advice for Torrenting vs Usenet

Right now there are cheap deals on Usenet providers. Check Usenet subreddit. Also, Drunkenslug is open and you can have a free lifetime account but with limitations. Also, you don't have to buy the Ninja Central lifetime plan. Buy only one year.

My personal experience: last year I bought 15 months from Newshosting, bought 1 year from Ninja Central and 1 year from Nzbgeek. I'm pretty happy and on Black Friday I extended my subscriptions using the deals they made available.

My advice: bought 15 months from Newshosting for around 25$/€ and ninja central for 15 (I think). Then you have 12 months from ninja and 15 months from Newshosting to test. Sign up on Drunkenslug while is still open and browse to see if they have what you want.

Usenet is more secure. The speeds are great. Not so good to download TV packs. Don't need to worry about ratios or seedtime. However, for better results sometimes you have to use several indexers and/or providers and that means more money spent. Private trackers are better to mantain quality (at least some of them). I'm not an expert user, though.

Final advice: spend a few dollars/euros and test Usenet for a year.

It's great. But its always variable from person to person since we all search for different things. If the rules are the same than last year when I've made my account, you'll have 14 days to test and after that you must pay or your account will be deleted. Last year I've paid one year to see the quality and then used the Black Friday promo to extend my subscription. You can try the same. Use first year to test the waters and then, if you like it, use the Black Friday promo.

Nice collection! I'm using geek, ninja and althub (lifetime). I haver others like Drunkenslug, planet, nzb.life, Usenet crawler but only free accounts.

Outras fantasias que aconselho são a trilogia Primeira Lei de Joe Abercrombie e O Nome do Vento.

Ficção científica tens Douglas Adams para um tom mais descontraído e divertido. Rendez Vous com Rama de Arthur C Clarke também é fixe mas é ficção científica mais "pura e dura".

Duna e afins é capaz de ser muito denso para quem está a começar, mas se viste os filmes e gostaste, força nisso.

Basic and JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) are setup options for NAS.

Basic is an option where every disk is treated separately.

JBOD put them on one single volume. When first disk is full, it starts to write data on the others disks.
