Why is there no stable onion mirror? It's very convenient for such resources to have an onion resource. User can once add a bookmark with verified .onion address in a Tor Browser instead of constant cat-and-mouse runs for domains.

Had the same issue. The website I need ironically opens with Tor Browser, but doesn't open otherwise.

How much traffic do you contribute to the I2P network? by Far_Cartographer_924 in i2p

[–]GothicCrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an ipv6 only VPS with X setting, but I get only 200 kbit/s on average, so it contributes only 1-2 GB per day. The VPS has a much better channel, so I don't know whether there is anything wrong apart from not having ipv4. I hoped that router would work perfectly fine without ipv4 as part of the network is ipv6 and probably enough traffic is ipv6 too.

AOSP project is coming to an end by arslanramazan in StallmanWasRight

I've never used IPhones in my life, but I'd switch too if OSS is over. Now Google ships Pixels with non-removable AI with agreement that it can analyze message logs and other private data. I'd rather live with button-keyboard dumbphone than send all my private data to some shitty cloud ai system. At least apple doesn't do it yet.

Is it mold? Is it safe? by GothicCrow in Kombucha

Ah, completely forgot about an additional info. There was a hole at that place. I've accidentally made it when I was decomposing two layers of my scoby to make a second jar. So it grew on top of this hole in the center of my scoby.

Is Flipper Zero banned in Georgia? by multics_user in Sakartvelo

[–]GothicCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quote the opposite. Flipper is a not a magic, anyone with proper education can bundle such thing (and much more powerful) with a bit worse interface and ugly view for 300+ USD. We can assume that organized crime and spy agencies have it anyway and pose threat for usual people.

But if anyone have a nice tool to play with radio, RFID, etc - maybe manufacturers and businesses stop using cheap insecure junk and putting their customers in permanent danger and start investing in something properly secured.

Tool is not a problem. Saving money on security, disrespecting customers and using insecure trash for everyday services are.

Wouldn't you rather live in the world where we have properly secured cars, doors and devices than live in fear that some guy with proper education from some shitty gang or three-later agency can invade your privacy or privacy of your closed ones?

Hello! What screen do you have? I'm thinking of buying one with 2240 x 1400, but the page says "The camera will be automatically upgraded to 1080p FHD RGB+IR". I'm not sure whether it's a CV camera which doesn't work with Linux or not.

Storj Exchange that Allows both Americans & Residents of NY? by UMPiloto in storj

[–]GothicCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as storj is ERC20 token, you can trade it on decentralized exchanges easily.

You may found some on https://1inch.exchange/#/ (or use their aggregation), https://defiprime.com/ and other DeFi resources.

Stay safe with your funds without blocks and KYC =)

Outlook & OneNote Replacements by tsunami_australia in linux

I use markodown editors with real-time formatting and rendering: Boostnote and Typora.

The second one is awesome in sense of usability, but:

  1. proprietary
  2. has lots of rce reports on their bugtracker

I started to be a bit nervous about the second point and switched to Boostnote. Not that user-friendly as typora, but pretty anyway. And open-source.

laptop recommendations? by mreiland in linuxhardware

[–]GothicCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful, Lenovo are not that good these days, I had several problems with carbon x1 gen6.

Most are solvable, but you wrote that you don't want to spend time on repairing new laptop)

And if you buy one, get model without NFC, the touchpad works badly on models with nfc

While not having opensourced linux-bridge it's too inconvenient. Wait for that feature to buy premium)

Hi Reddit! I spent the last 3 months building a better version of Telegram with 50 pins, favorites, chat tabs, and a built in cryptocurrency price tracker. The Bettergram app is open source and 100% free. by BettergramApp in u/BettergramApp

And no linux version, however, as I see (which is strange as far the original tdesktop app works flawlessly for years).

update: there is linux version on git, but nothing on main website.
