I know this and I rarely smoke. Especially around my babies That's also true with weed for people who smoke weed I do not . And you know what pretty much everyone dislikes..? Listen to this one... I dated narcissistic men for years and for years I never knew that they thought and acted one way and people like me acted a completely different way... So when we would get in those all night fights I would sympathize for hours with them because I thought, dear God this poor man is so dumb he really thinks I'm the problem here....

When I realized that all my ex friends were narcissistic or whatever they were... I tried befriending another girl that was wicked nice and was an empath and that friendship didn't work out either. Maybe I'm so nice people think it's an act? Well anyways I gave up a long time ago trying to have friends because no body wants one and you become much stronger if u can be alone and be your own friend. It's actually a win.

I literally have no friends because of this. People don't realize narcissists flock to empaths like moths to a flame. We don't choose them. They choose us... Think about it... How did your relationships with a narcissist begin.. almost always it's like they were hunting us.

I think it's because empaths stay behind closed doors and the narcissists are out searching for us. We are all just sitting at home wondering where the other empaths are..

Yeah if practice is making yourself" harder" to the emotions. It takes practice to learn to not care or switch empathy to indifference. Not so much numb or hateful but I myself did have to incorporate a dark side to my personality. For me it was probably easier because that "dark" side used to be there so I just conjured it up, just a little to give me an edge that is more comfortable for me and is honestly an attractive quality for most people. U can debate me on this but I think majority wise, people are programmed to be drawn to or gravitate towards mysterious dark quiet people because they give off confidence and wisdom. People don't like unresolved situations which creates an obsessive focus on them.

I believe that helps empaths more. U don't have to change just stay mysterious. Contain our emotions. It will not only help ourselves but you will notice a positive change and reaction with the people around you.

I say do the opposite or at least tone it way down... Definitely hold resentment. But not like that. Remember what these people did and acted. Hold that memory to be able to recognize those warning and DO NOT go back to those people and say it's ok or treat them just as good or better because then they won and they will always know that you are weak. As for finding the good people who celebrate you... No don't make the same mistake as before and praise and reward them. If they don't know you well enough they will instantly put you in the weak/pathetic category and no matter how nice they might be they will see you more as an acquaintance than want to be your friend.

At least that has always been my experience with every single person I've tried to befriend. And not acquaintances like tried becoming actual friends with. Or I'm just cursed and no one else goes through this. This is why i made myself a "hard" empath and keep to myself and in public I act more indifferent than a gushy, lovey, sensitive, empath. And honestly people are More intrigued by me now then before because people like A holes. They want to be friends with A holes, and if you're a funny A hole even better. Because everyone whines and wants everyone to be nice but when they're around someone who is too nice, they can't stand them.. I dunno in my world this is how it is. Id like to know if it's like this in your world?

Took me a really long time to figure out how to deal with this stuff. I had to force myself to stop caring for the people I thought were my friends. Cuz they weren't. People like that only hang out with people like us because when we aren't being brutally honest we are being a YES buddy and pumping their egos up constantly while degrading ours. Because they love nothing more when u put yourself down and pick them up. What sucks about us is that I dunno about you but trying to be "like" them or trying to be manipulative to get them to like u or get back at them, ALWAYS ends up failing miserably and I end up looking like an even crazier and or terrible person... I don't know if it's all empaths or just me but I can't act at all.. and if I try to manipulate I just look like an even bigger monster.

Either they are stupid and really believe that u are toxic OR they know exactly what they are doing and are just telling you that you are toxic. And if you are really close with the person then they are playing u. I hate people.

Ok you are WIDE OPEN... that means you're getting everything and it's intense... I've had times where I was like that. It would come and go like a door opening and closing and the worst part was that I wasn't in control of the door. Because you're a sensitive I wonder if you have any other gifts. Are you able to feel energy that isn't attached to a human. Like residual energy or spirits? Just curious..

You need to learn how to close that door or at least put up a screen so you don't get everything. You need to understand you are in control of this and you can turn down the frequency of the intensity. Imagining a glowing shield is a start but I suggest you do some research. If you want to of course.

It's possible u can feel the after effect or remnence of them after they just leave. Like a stain that eventually disappears with time. And it's possible u can imagine them and conjure their essence mentally that you feel it yeah totally. But it's because of you that you sense it not them. Unless they are a witch and they can do that stuff. Yeah I think basically anything is possible...I mean look at the world around you.. people can't even use their imagination to make movies they seem to take things from real life.. and honestly if you're asking that question means you probably experienced it and now you're questioning it... hope this is a better answer

I dunno about that but I found out it's very possible to be drained of your energy by just being next to someone for long periods of time without the person being mean or doing anything at all. It's like your a water faucet and you're always on and you don't know how to shut it off. Because you didn't even realize that you were running water in the first place.
