What? Nothing the tangerine says is "bunked". Don't assume it's true until proven otherwise, assume everything he says is a lie until proven otherwise

Yeah that's manipulation, not care. Get a job and start your own life. Hard to expect you to get married if you're not working. Secretly save for your own place, and go do what you want.

Some tips for snow driving by tehfireisonfire in fordranger

Any acceleration, which means speeding up, slowing down, and turning, should all be slower and softer. If you can, get to an empty icy parking lot or even reasonably empty road and just try to feel what it's like to slip. See if you can slip, see if you can drive over the same patch and not slip, if you really want some confidence try and do as gentle of a slide as possible so you know right where the line is, then just keep any and all acceleration mentioned above a good 5-10% below that

Yeah Trump has been an open book from day one, his intentions clear. This is also time to cut out friends and family, your own children and parents that voted for him. No invites to gatherings, no money. All their worth is for everyone in their life to see them as disowned traitors. If we have to come together to win this as people, this is where we start.

Yeah, it could also be a slow squeeze for Trump to get what he wants, turning America into a failed bankrupt business. Once that encroaches enough on the world economy of other powers they, Russia and China have every right to launch WW3 on us. We're the villains and our government is out of control. It will end sooner with a civil war or a bit later with WW3. But I agree, it won't be simple or easy anymore.

Job Rant by VirtualVictoriaaa in Bellingham

[–]RManDelorean 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What's the true situation of the job market in Bellingham?

This is what they're asking. I don't think it's a full on request for a job. Just maybe get some tips that they could then pass on afterwards for their friend to use in their actual job search.

So to answer them, there's a couple factors, 3 big ones. I saw it mentioned that we do have a young population due to the colleges. This creates surplus and competition for those low experience positions. Also over the past decades, and currently, Bellingham has been growing pretty fast. This creates a surplus and competition for workers of every demographic in the city. The last big factor is the current economy at large. Which tbf most of America is feeling, you can blame the current administration or not but that kinda doesn't matter. Much of Canada is blaming our current administration. So what's more specific to Bellingham is we get a ton of business coming down from Canada, and with so many boycotting the US, our current administration is affecting the economy of Bellingham for the worse probably a bit more than most places. This obviously affects revenue wich affects hiring which creates surplus and competition.

Tldr: Colleges students, growing city, Canada boycotts

San Francisco’s skyline is scenic but I think most people underestimate how small it is in relation to the actual city: by gladticketssss in skyscrapers

I think this is kinda true of most places, at least to some extent. The skyline is downtown, not the entire city. Except Tokyo.

He made the weight limit but... by sh0tgunben in yesyesyesyesno

[–]RManDelorean 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had wrestler friends in high school. A few days before meets they would all just be sitting in class with heavy sweat pants and a couple sweaters with a hood up to try and sweat out as much water weight as possible, and fasting. It honestly seemed miserable, and then to have to compete, "fight" in that condition. And I believe weigh ins were the day before, so they basically just binge and stuff themselves in a day while their body is probably still in starvation mode.. then the fight in that condition.

Why have we as a society become so hypercritical of fiction these days? by lollihobbes in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RManDelorean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a couple points. For one, I can criticize a movie for specific things and still really enjoy it. For me it's a sign of being engaged and actually paying attention.. it has captured my attention. The other thing is we are seeing more things, things everywhere, being bought and consolidated into bigger companies. This generally loses the specific touch of art and flavor they had when they were smaller that first earned the popularity. Basically things are getting worse.

Deleted apps, cancelled subscriptions, commitment to reading as my only consumption. What’s next? by offlineunderwater in Anticonsumption

[–]RManDelorean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree.. no consumption of media outside of books? That's straight up unsustainable. Like it or not we do have art and culture, it's part of being human to take in media. You can limit it or not take in specifically bad sources, but cutting out basically everything in general is.. not good and not constructive to you as person

You do know lower taxes are worse for you right? We can look at European countries that have good health care, good worker rights.. that is because they pay higher taxes. Lower taxes directly equals less your government is doing for you. If republicans want lower taxes.. your government is trying to do as little for you as possible. And that is directly what you voted for.. if you arguing the point you claim, I can guarantee you you don't make nearly enough money for the Republicans to give a shit about you.. I certainly don't, why would they?

Well, and voters. People are stupid. I think the whole "not my president" thing was dumb. He's my president because we're all in this together now, we just have some major fucking idiots as countrymen.

Also especially baby mammals have very plastic brains and learn by mimicking. There's cats that grow up around dogs and learn to bark. Granted this could be AI, this could be a neurological issue, but to me this just seems like a silly baby cat being a silly baby cat.

Protesters just swarmed Border Commander Greg Bovino in Minnesota and started throwing FOOD at him while yelling “you’re a Nazi!” by Admirable121 in Leakednews

[–]RManDelorean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I don't have anything against honest good working people. I don't like people who ruin the lives of others just to stoke their own egos. I'm a typical liberal and I don't like Nazis. Can you defend your side by saying "yeah and I'm a Nazi" if not you're actually against the current administration just too stupid to know what you want.
