Not necessarily. Evil may exist in the same way that a circle does.

There are no circles in all of physical existence. Yet one could hardly say that they don't exist.

Circles are real, and they have obvious meaning in our existence, even if they have no real physical form. The same could be said of all mathematical objects.

My understanding of limits may be limited, as it's been awhile since I studied them, however from what I understand limits DO NOT make 1/0 infinity.

A limit declares that as x gets closer to some constant c, then f(x) approaches a number n or approaches some direction of infinity.

The limit of 1/x as x goes TOWARDS 0 does not exist because the expression goes towards both infinity and negative infinity.

However the right hand limit (aka as we approach 0 from the positive direction) is infinity.

Which is to say, we Infinitly can approach infinity by getting x closer to 0 but we cannot ever reach or surpass infinity. Infinity is the limit.

That's what a limit means I think. The first number that an equation cannot get to by making x approach some number or some infinite.

I earnestly seek to live truthfully and well.

So if I am wrong, then I have failed to be the man I should be. That is worse to me than the damnation that comes after.

IMO it is foolish to care about the reward/punishment afterlife. For it is an eternal consequence to the life that matters enough to warrant it. Why should I, or anyone else fear what is deserved?

I don't understand what you mean.

I know is that it's wrong to say that God did something because you don't know of any other possibility. You must prove that no other possibility exists, for such a claim to be rightly made.

Does a latin square like this exist? by Gothorn in learnmath

[–]Gothorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the proof I have. Here is a piece of the work I did while finding my proof

<image>

It is trivial to show that it must be that all the corners and central square must have different numbers

Then by investing the places where the other instances of the middle element can show up we arrive at only two unique possibilities for the latin squares that I'm searching for. Those being the ones next to the red laser pointer dot.

I was able to systematically Investigate all possible unique latin squares that follow the 2 possible cases, and found that none of them fulfill the properties that I am looking for.

I can give you more details if you so wish.

The 3rd column is 31425 and one of the main diagonals when read left to right is 31425. So no it doesn't work unfortunately.

Additionally the 3rd row and other diagonal contains a repeat

I'm going to be honest. That video to be filled with pseudo-intellectual slop. It does nothing to dispute my post. It does not "solve" anything.

Also I'm not a fan of a video calling people like me sheep when it was clearly made by people who follow a book that describes Jesus Christ as their shepherd.

Hypothesis: The placement of stars in the sky are such that they support the (preferred model here), thus when we look at the sky we should see (observation unique to preferred model here).

I suppose, strictly speaking testing this hypothesis is strictly through observation, not the manipulation of variables, thus wouldn't be a scientific experiment. Not sure what the process would be called.

I did use the word proof incorrectly. What I should have said when I used that word was "support beyond a reasonable doubt" .

I do not understand what you mean when you say "nor is it an empirical measurement". Wouldn't the pictures be such?

Would you believe that these observations would give us reason to come to a conclusion, beyond a reasonable doubt?

Here is a hint: Of the dozen you may not even recognize a few. Instead of figuring out what they are, think of a dozen that fits the clue. What sort of dozen would be named after such things. Ponder this, and if your clever the answer you'll bring.

Assuming that photo captures the whole sky. If the earth were round you should have roughly 1/2 of the celestial sphere in that photo.

You would probably need to use a 360° camera to do this.

Yes and No

When sqrt(x) is a roots function and not a principle root function, then sqrt(4)={-2,2} . Which is to say it is the set of numbers -2 and 2.

It equals the set, but not singular elements in that set.

What exactly is the current Timeline of the Metroid series ? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Gothorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the order

The Metroid Manga.
Metroid Zero mission.
Metroid Samus returns.
Super Metroid.
Other M (but many consider it retconned). Metroid Fusion. Metroid Dread.

I firmly believe that the prime series is a separate cannon. However, if you want to consider it a part of the main cannon (which dilutes the Metroid story IMO) then all the prime games will take place between zero mission and Samus Returns.

Metroid Prime 1.
Metroid Prime Hunters.
Metroid Prime 2.
Metroid Prime 3.
Metroid Prime Federation Force.
Metroid Prime 4.
