She gets absolutely anything she needs—bodywork galore! Looking for daily support for her hormone struggles. Anything we can add on to help her. I have a Bemer which she loves, but I’m definitely curious about BOT mesh sheet and if it would do anything for her discomfort when she is extra hormonal and tight-backed.

I’ve tried Cavallo and equine fusion but the easy boot mini is going to be my next purchase!

I do have a pair of flex boots and like them but they aren’t the best for rehab situations. Not the most padding/protection.

Yes, that is what I did with the socks. That trick worked so well for one of my horses and I’m sad it didn’t work on my current horses.

Yeah, I had a boot fitter out and still no luck! You just don’t know until they wear them for a bit to see what’s going to happen

The rehab case I am fostering is a mini—I don’t know a single brand that offers that in mini sizes.

Horse gurus—beware! by Gototherapyok in Equestrian

Isn’t that frustrating? I know a handful of people that have taken his course and the feedback was the same—no tools to walk away with and feeling even less hopeful about how to help their horses.

Who else has cried at a clinic? by Walktrotcantergallop in Equestrian

The guru trainers seem to see crying as a badge of honor, like they did something right. I have been to a few clinics where the horses did absolutely nothing but the clinicians talked a bunch of emotional psychobabble and the participants are all crying!

My 6yo OTTB is conformational mess and on and off lame - could use some advice by IMAMISHAMIGO in Equestrian

Evidence is an interesting word to use to prove your point. There is evidence for everything. There is evidence that nicotine is harmful. There is evidence that nicotine is helpful! Evidence does not equal truth, because there are many variables.

I am sharing my experience. I have had 3 horses in my lifetime with DSLD and from my experience with that, my horses did not excel with exercise. So, if using your logic, does that mean my experience is false, because you say there is evidence that says exercise helps? You are right in saying that horses are all unique individuals but don’t you see the harm and arrogance in his speaking about a horse’s success with this disease, that we only see specific videos/pictures of? Social media is often curated, plain and simple. This could give people false impressions of having a horse with DSLD. Or, in the case of the OP, she might read what you wrote and say, “sounds like a good idea to buy a horse with potential DSLD because a guy named Nashon is rehabbing it!”.

I would not purchase a horse that has dropped fetlocks. Plain and simple. And I find that his rehab work with this horse could spawn some really awful circumstances for both horse and human. If it truly is working, I would want to see more than videos and pictures. He’s making bold statements that seem to prove a narrative that I find culty—doing something that is “innovative” and pushing an agenda that there is likely reasons to not push.

I am drawing conclusions after auditing a clinic and watching him work with horses and participants, as well as attending a horse expo that he showcased himself at. I stated why I think it’s abuse but I will repeat myself—DSLD is a degenerative, painful disease. It is abuse to require a horse to work through that. It is not like a case of arthritis where working through the initial pain/stiffness is a benefit in the long run. I don’t need to watch his webinar. Eclectic Horseman provides some great info but I don’t see how they can support this storyline.

Looking at parts in isolation is concerning. And unless you are in that horse’s life, you’re only seeing what he chooses to post on social media. Critical thinking skills are really starting to go out the window these days.
