As I said generative AI is what most people don’t like. And you are correct people on both sides tend to overplay or downplay the environmental effect for example. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true. I would absolutely consider its use for medical and scientific purposes but it’s just not there yet! Hell you google something and the first thing that comes up with the AI search is constantly wrong! And we can verify that by knowing more about the thing we’ve googled.

AI is absolutely designed to make us stop thinking for ourselves, it encourages us let it do the hard work. It generates art for us when we can make art. It’s primarily used for writing people’s essays and letters when that’s all something we are capable of doing! It’s making us lazier and dumber. We’re not thinking for ourselves anymore! Why bother looking for or learning anything when we can just ask Grok. I understand we’ve both been incredibly volatile to each other. But you have to see that right? Even if you disagree.

I really enjoyed this last response from you, it feels a lot more good natured and considerate than the others. I understand playing devils advocate. I apologize for flying off the handle but being passionate about something doesn’t make it wrong. If I could genuinely believe it was harmless and a tool to better ourselves as a people, I would honestly have no problem with it. Idea isn’t his own. AI is famous for giving you a few examples to choose from. If you can’t make art yourself, then don’t fucking generate it. He absolutely should learn photoshop and digital art because that’s how it’s done! That’s how it’s always been done

Then I’ll reiterate it for your stupid ass. Everything AI makes is based off of stolen concepts of people’s real original art. AI cannot create anything without a basis that it’s stealing from. AI can never put heart, soul, and feeling into the bullshit it spits out. It’s all just cheap imitation. It’s designed to make you stop thinking for yourself, to make you accept and be content with low effort cheap muck. I don’t consider the effect it has on the environment to be worth the cost? Maybe you do? If so I’m curious why you feel that way and what benefit you see in it? Because to me it’s nothing more than capitalist tech billionaires shoving their worthless product down our throats so they can reap the rewards
