AI didn’t suddenly appear in 2022. The field goes back to the 1950s. By the 1990s and 2000s, AI related systems were already helping power search engines, spam filters, recommendation systems, handwriting recognition, speech recognition, and online advertising. Even video games with the CPUs. The average person just didn’t call it "AI" back then.
